I'm from Ukraine and in the '70s and '80s and early '90s all over Russia and Ukraine they have these massive containers that get hooked up to the car and get pulled anywhere in the city and during the summer they unhook these containers all over the place and they have usually one person selling this very tasty refreshing summer drink called "KVAS" made from bread and yeast, some make it from other ingredients and I learned that it can also be made using chicory root powder that dissolves instantly and turns out it tastes exactly like KVAS tasted back in the days. I highly recommend trying it. Here's the recipe, it's very simple and I am pretty confident most people especially kids will love this drink 👇Take 3 Liters of water and warm it up to room temperature Make sure it doesn't exceed 85° F and add one heaping tablespoon of chicory powder, then one non-heaping teaspoon of citric acid, about 200g of sugar but you can add more or less to reach your desired sweetness level, and after you mix everything in so everything is dissolved, the last ingredient is a teaspoon of dry yeast. Mix it in and leave it in a warm place or on the counter for 3 to 4 hours until you notice a little bubbles forming and a little foam is visible at the top which is a clear indication that fermentation process had started at which point you just bottle it up and put in the refrigerator preferably overnight and then it's ready to drink. When drinking don't shake the bottle but let the sediment stay at the bottom. The final product will be the color of black tea which would be brown and you'll taste bubbles and when you open the bottle after it set in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, when you open the bottle you should hear a hissing sound from gas which is CO2 gas accumulating and that's exactly what you want to happen which means the drink is ready and the recipe worked like it should. Wait until you try it because it tastes much better than kombucha and everyone will like it especially kids. Enjoy!

Excellent smooth and rich taste. No caffeine, so good for evenings

This is an excellent alternative for coffee. It’s a little strong so be careful with the amount to use. I would start with a smaller amount than is suggested.

It tastes good, like a type of flavored coffee. It's also caffeine free and has health benefits; It contains inulin, a prebiotic that supports a healthy gut.The only thing i dont like is the paper-bag packaging. I prefer the plastic, as the outside wont get damaged if it gets wet.It dissolves in hot water instantly, like instant coffee. One small teaspoon is enough with sugar. I still enjoy my coffee but this is also a nice, healthy alternative.Only think i wish they would change is the packaging- it's like paper bag type packaging, which if it gets wet gets damaged like paper. I prefer plastic.

Best instant chicory root I’ve tried!

Although it's not the most Pleasant tasting, it's an alternative coffee beverage.

This product may be good for someone that is B vitamin deficient. I noticed that my headaches could have come from my recent uptick of ground turkey, which is loaded with B vitamins. Chilled with both the turkey and the chicory root powder and no headaches. Be sure to keep track of what you are eating (if on the relatively healthy side) you don't want to ever overload on any vitamin. Other than that, and it being a bit grainy, it tasted pretty good.

I usually purchase chicory coffee so when my daughter bought this for me, I was very interested. I tried it in the evening and was glad I did. It tasted just like my chicory coffee combo without the caffeine. I enjoyed it so much I bought another bag.
