A great book for Uk readers
What a fantastic book, especially if you speak English not American. Recipes that use grams and milliletres not ounces, cups, or quarts. It was refreshing to find a book with easy everyday recipes. Recipes that I've actually cooked and tasted delicious, with the exception of the Macaroni Cheese, (I didn't like the cashew sauce). I don't write many reviews but this book thoroughly deserved it, well done to the author.

Not quite vegan
Well it's not vegan as she uses honey in some recipes. That aside (and honey is easy to substitute) it's a good cookbook with lots of ideas. I'm not an athlete. I have recently had bariatric surgery and need to increase my protein intake. As there are no vegan bariatric cookbooks I thought I would would try this one. She does add a lot of oil, but I can water sauté etc. I think this will be useful to me as the recipes use whole non-processed uncomplicated ingredients and are straightforward to follow.

This book *made* my Veganuary.
I rarely write reviews on here, but just had to say how utterly fantastic this book is! I've taken part in Veganuary for the past five years, but this January has been the best simply because of this book. I'm not an athlete as such - I go for the occasional run! - but I feel absolutely incredible! So many brilliant, healthy, balanced recipes that aren't reliant on processed foods or meat replacements. 10/10!

A diverse and easy-to-follow recipe book whether you're plant based or not!
This is an excellent book for anybody looking to diversify their plate. I personally am not plant-based but I try to be as plant-based as possible when cooking at home. There are a wide range of recipes that I have been working my way through and most are pretty quick and easy to do. I've also really enjoyed following the recipes for energy bars - they are much healthier and nutritious, as well as cheaper, than store bought options so I will definitely be making these more often. I would recommend to anybody interested in improving their nutrition as an athlete, or just looking to try out some new recipe ideas!

The cookbook the vegan and sports world has been waiting for
I love this book. It is full of what I’d call “normal” food, with the added bonus of having the protein taken care of. There is also lots of informative nutritional guidance for all levels of “athlete”. Thank you for writing it Anita!

My new kitchen bible!
As a vegan runner I am forever looking for nutritious recipes to fuel my runs and recovery days and this fabulous book has very quickly become my kitchen bible. I love how every recipe comes with information about how each of the ingredients benefits your body and also how easy the instructions are to follow. I have worked my way through the book and am now using it at least 3-4 times per week. The Butternut Squash Macaroni Cheese (absolutely divine!), Mixed Grain Salad With Crispy Tempeh and Blackbean and Sweet Potato Salad are amongst my favourites but to be honest I haven’t yet cooked a recipe from this book and not enjoyed it. Thank you so much for brightening up our evening meals, Anita!

Clear science, tasty easy recipes
I used this book to help plan a series of healthy eating cookery sessions with young athletes. None of us are vegans but as a club we are trying to reduce our carbon footprint and part of that involves eating less meat and dairy. This book explained the science of how, when and what to eat when training in a very clear way. All the recipes I have tried so far have been great and I've not needed to buy any unusual ingredients. I've been raving about this book to all my vegan friends but it's for anyone who exercises and wants to eat well.

Tasty meals with great information
I have this habbit of buying cookbooks when they are on sale for kindle. Most of them I never use more than looking through them once. But then, once in a while I find a gem. This is one of them. All the meals I've cooked from this book have been absolute bangers. They fit perfectly into what I already generally cook. I love the focus on nutrion and the additional information about the food you get with each meal. Not only are they tasty, I know what to eat when I want more iron or more energy or a speedier recovery after training. The beginning section about sports and nutrition and how elite athletisicm can be achieved on a vegan diet was super interessting. Even though I'm not an athlete the information is worth having and I try to incorporate that knowledge into my own training and diet.Propably the only cookbook I will ever wholehearthedly recommend.
