Amazing as always
Repeat purchase of a great product. The hot variety is fairly hot. It’s hard to describe as every one’s taste is subjective. Think of a hot store-bought Salsa in a popular brand. Personally I sometimes add a bit of extra hot chili oil but my husband loves it as is.It is easy to prepare with precise instructions on the box. I recommend a scale to weigh ingredients but it isn’t necessary, just easier. The sauce comes out nice and thick and smooth, almost creamy. So far I’ve prepared it with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp and extra firm tofu as the protein and served it with either brown or white rice or naan. It was delicious every time.

Couldn't find the Hot version in stores anymore, had to resort to finding it online. Glad it was here. Works great! We add beef, onions, leeks, carrots, celery and water chestnuts. Delicious

Perfect blend of heat and flavour
This curry roux is very tasty. I originally used the extra hot version, but I recently switched to the regular hot one. I’ve found that it is more flavorful and has a fuller, deeper taste than the extra hot version.I make a waterless curry using ground pork seasoned with turmeric, garam masala, ginger powder, black pepper, and salt. Once the pork is browned, I add cubed carrots, finely sliced onions, a can of crushed tomatoes, and the chopped curry blocks. I then close the lid and cook it on medium-high heat for 20 minutes, mixing everything really well. After that, I lower the heat to low and let it simmer for another 45-60 minutes with the lid closed. You will have a delicious curry that requires much less effort than the traditional Japanese curry recipe!

Umai!
These are the LARGE version of this product, twice the size of what you usually find at the grocery store, and its HOT, like you want it. No other product is close to this for japanese style curry rice ! Umai!!

Easy cooking
Potato, onion, carrot and meat. If you begin to learn how to cook and want a good result this is a good starting point. To me it's better than instant noodles.

I love the flavor
I like using it mixed with tofu bites, veggies and garbanzo beans. The “hot” has just the right amount of heat.
