I installed this on my raised deck. If you mount it correctly, it is extremely convenient and the hose is nice and long to reach everywhere to the plants on my deck. It’s retracting mechanism nicely spreads out the hose so it doesn’t kink very well constructed and looks like it’s gonna last a long time, I love the way the fittings on equipment. I’ve got a whole bunch of them.

This is needed in every garden or front or back yard. It store the hose very nice and it is very easy to use. Totally recommend this garden retractable hose.

Works beautifully. Good looking finish, decent mounting system. The hose requires the Gardena quick connect fittings, and a few screw-in adapters included. I was a little hesitant at first, I hadn't used quick connects in ages, but the Gardena ones are really high quality and can be changed under pressure -- I've become a believer. The hose diameter is on the smaller side, and a little flexible so you feel flex as you pull from the reel, but the pressure is good.For those who are planning to DIY this, the real trick to these hose reels is mounting them. My exterior wall is stucco so I was only really comfortable mounting to a stud. The mounting design is triangular so for a 2x4 installation you might only be able to stud mount at a single point.

This is one of those rare products that looks and performs exactly as it is described and depicted in the product videos. I needed a hose to fill and clean several bird baths that are thirty feet from the deck. I also wanted it to hose down the deck. This lightweight hose is perfect for those tasks, and when I’m done using it the retraction mechanism works smoothly and easily. The unit swings 180 degrees and is hardly noticeable mounted under the deck. It is easy to install with common hand tools. The drilling guide for the mounting bracket is printed on one of the box flaps that is perforated to make it easily removable. Hardware is packaged individually for different types mounting surfaces. Remember to allow four inches of clearance if you plan to mount it under a deck as I did; this allows for the swivel post to be inserted in the bracket. Now I have to tidy up under the deck!

I wish it came with metal quick connects.

I am sick of wrapping hoses, and they kink and fall apart every year or two. This reel hose seems expensive, but the fact that’s it’s well built and easy to care for most likely makes it cheaper in the long run. It’s also a much more pleasurable experience to water the yard when you don’t have to fight the hose.

This thing worked fine for about three years. Used it maybe every other day, no unusual wear or tear. One day, it just won't retract anymore. I shine a light inside the aperture, it looks tangled up. I suspect the element that winds the hose up from left-to-right, then back again, failed. Not a very durable product.

We've had this hose reel for two years now. It has performed as expected. We have a small patio for a back yard and it reaches all points of the patio with out any dramas.
