Highly Recommend
Recommended this book by a headhunter (job recruiter) and listened to the entire thing prior to going to an interview and it really did help! This has advice for outfits, body language, and even some ways to respond to those questions we never know what to say to. It helps you to think about your interview from every angle and I felt much more prepared. The interviewer gave me great feedback. I find out later this week if I got the job. Definitely recommend this for anyone job searching, interviewing, those getting back into the workforce or even those just starting out.

A Must-Have for All Job Seekers
Martin Yate shares his years of HR and Headhunting experience in helping the job seeker better prepare for their next interview. The content includes an understanding in a companies hiring decision process, how to create a target job deconstruction (TJD) to better align your skill set to what employers are looking for, best practices for a successful phone interview, dress code for men/women, body language do’s and don’ts while at the interview, a variety potential interview questions, proper follow up strategy, and negotiating the job offer. This past year I was looking for a new job and getting in person interviews, however, I wasn’t getting offers. I was frustrated but a friend recommended I read Knock ‘Em Dead Job Interview. After reading this book, I can honestly say I felt better prepared and confident in the answers I provided hiring managers which eventually led me to getting a job offer.A major benefit in the chapter of potential interview questions from employers, he gives brief descriptions that’ll help you understand what hiring managers are looking for in your answers. It also gives you a solid list of questions for you to ask the hiring manager which came in handy for me.My time with this book doesn’t just end since landing a new job. It’s a tool I plan on using for years to come whether I’m looking to grow within a company or move in a different direction. So what are you waiting for? Go pick up a copy and be better prepared to knock ‘em dead at your next interview.

Greatest tip I walked away with was to accept water ...
I hadn't interviewed in 16 years, so I needed a refresher course. Although I only read about half of the book, it helped me to start thinking of ways to address my (now) employers' questions. Not a slam dunk though. I almost got backed into a corner when I addressed a question with a suggested response from the book. You must tailor your answers and make sure it works well for the job you're seeking. Greatest tip I walked away with was to accept water when offered at the start of the interview. Especially since I flew up and back on the same day for an interview. It helped since I was dehydrated from the flight and it provided a few more seconds to compose my answers during a very probing interview.

I love the Knock 'Em Dead series!
I'm retired now, but I bought this book for my daughter-in-law when she moaned about interviewing for jobs. It provides the reader with the psychology behind interviewing so that you understand what the interviewer is really asking and you're never caught without an answer. It's also full of great tips. I have an older version of this book that I marked up and used for years throughout my career for both being interviewed and interviewing candidates. The entire Knock 'Em Dead series is worth reading for the young professional and it's a great addition to your library. I can't tell you how many times I've loaned my books out to job seekers, but I thought my daughter-in-law needed her own copy to mark up and make it her own. Applying the wisdom in this book will increase your skills and transform your interviewing. It will definitely put you in front of other candidates who aren't as prepared. Happy job hunting!

Impressive amount of advice
There are lots of resources available to people on the job market. But many of them stick to focusing on applying for jobs – how to search for a good job, how to make your resume stand out, etc. It’s rare to find advice on preparing for an interview and negotiating the terms of your employment.I was impressed by how much advice was given in this book and how many aspects of the interview preparation and process were given. From appearance to body language to maintaining your composure when the interviewer gets a little too personal, every scenario seemed to be covered. The author offered so many tips that never would have occurred to me.This is an excellent tool to keep on hand throughout a job hunt, and even as a refresher when you’re trying to make yourself invaluable to your employer or if you’re up for a promotion. This book reminds us to maintain a sense of professionalism that seems lost on so many applicants. I am confident that I will stand out from the crowd in my future applications and interviews.

Expectations
I was looking a for a book that contained questions that I would expect on an interview and supposed answers that would "wow" an interviewer. This book is for new college or high-school graduates looking for a job--or for someone who is returning to the job market after being away for awhile. This book is not for the high-end career seekers who will face behavioral and business strategy questions in an interview. The book provides well-known and general advice and what to do on an interview: dress professionally, arrive early, firm handshake, maintain eye contact, follow-up, etc. What about the down and dirty details of what to say for your pitch? For certain types of questions? What to include in the follow-up email?I really wanted to "Knock 'em Dead" but with this book, readers will learn how to put on their boxing gloves--that's about it.

Highly Recommended
I picked up my first copy of this book in 1994 and bought a few revisions over the years. My wife and I have used it throughout our careers and found it essential to preparing for interviews.
