Not as described
The tips are just as hard as the original apple tip, made no difference at all.

Better Writing Control
I use these tips with my 2nd gen Apple Pencil on my bare-screen 11in iPad Pro (2021). The first tip lasted roughly a year with near-daily use. Unfortunately, the sensor began to separate from the rest of the nib while I was in class taking notes. Luckily, it held together for the rest of the lecture, and I replaced it with the second included tip. I've never had this issue with the Apple-branded tips, but I use the pencil frequently; thus, I can understand its softer materials coupled with my heavy use leading to its breakage. This is something to keep in mind if you purchase these tips! Also, I've noticed some erratic behaviour with the pencil when writing on the screen: the pencil will leave errant marks or won't write anything at all. However, this might have something to do with the bottom of my hand touching the screen while writing (palm rejection by the iPad). I enjoy the enhanced control over the pencil when using these softer tips. The original nib is terribly firm; it slides too quickly over the screen, making writing or drawing difficult.

Great Upgrade!
I’ve been using some form of a pencil way before the Apple Pencil (shout-out to the Adonit Jot Pro), and they all work, but I just can’t write quickly on calls and in meetings⁄. So, I ordered these tips and another set that have a metal ball at the tip to experiment. Between these, the OEM Apple Pencil tip and the metal ball tips, these were a drastic improvement! I think the biggest issue I’ve had with translating my physical handwriting to the iPad is that the harder tips (like OEM) are more prone to “sliding” and make it feel as if I don’t have as much control of the pen as I should. That results in sloppier handwriting that doesn’t quite look like mine. With these, the tip has a softer, almost textured feel and makes grippier contact with the screen to prevent that sliding and lack of control feeling. It's still not perfect, but well enough to notate quicker and also be able to read my notes later.

Marginal improvement but stops working
First I'll say that these tips work and do add some drag to the writing and drawing experience. It seems to be the equivalent of what a paper-like screen protector would give, but with much less of a hassle. It's still not the experience of writing with pen on paper, but it moves closer in that direction. It's an obviously needed improvement that Apple is probably withholding to justify a new more highly priced product. I would recommend these in the meantime except that they apparently just stop working for no apparent reason.I've had this since Jan of 2022 and today the tip stopped working. Only 6 months of use is bad enough, but I'm a very light pencil user so my actual usage was probably only 2-3 weeks. I bought the 2-pack so I just changed to the other after doing the bluetooth troubleshooting, unscrewing the tip and trying different degrees of tightening. Only after these attempts did I realize it might be the tip. The second tip is working fine but I expect it too will soon stop working and then I'll return to the original Apple nib.

I Love These
I do a lot of note taking, and I like to write as neat as possible. I've tried all the accessories: grips, paper like screen protectors, different pencil tips, etc. In the end, besides a rubber sleeve for the pencil, I found that what works best is the original tip directly on the screen. It just takes a bit of practice to get good at it. However, these tips take it up a notch for me. It provides a little bit extra control when writing and gets rid of that sound when the tip hits the screen. They probably don't last as long but I'm fine with that.
