It's a big ol' tub of pink salt. As long as it actually is what it says it it (6.75% Sodium Nitrite, 93.25% Sodium Chloride, FD & C Red #3), then it's a great bargain. You can cure a lot of meat with this.

I used with Zesty Italian powder, Kosher Salt and Crushed Black Pepper in brine. Made chicken drumsticks that were every bit as tasty ( if not better ) than the turkey legs we get at the fair. Brined for 24 hours before smoking in electric smoker, ( with apple wood and hickory chips) until internal temperature got to 180 degrees. This stuff will go a LONG way. 1 tablespoon for every 20 lbs. You will not regret it. In fact, be prepared to be Amazed at how good it is! Also, use applejuice in drip pan to keep the chicken hydrated.

I've used this multiple times to cure pork belly's. It's more than most people will never need, and does the job well. I will buy again when the need arises.

Maybe they used more dye than necessary in this formula. But it did make a massive batch of good corned beef and some beef bacon. My wife was quite offended by the color.

I am sure this product work just as good as others. I have to leave a 1⭐️ Review for the excessive amount of highlighter hot pink dye. Many other manufacturers can do this with so much less dye and still be just as effective. If your dye sensitive steer very clear of this product.

Pink salt is used in curing processes. If you make jerky or sausage this is something you need. Follow your recipe requirements
