Great value, effective in most situations
We bought this product for a specific purpose - to keep our dogs out of the landscaped areas in our backyard. The yard is already fenced with a privacy fence, so we bought the product specifically to allow the our two shelter puppies (1-yr-olds at the time) to roam and play in the backyard while deterring them from getting into the landscaped areas where they loved to dig, chew branches, and eat mulch. For this, it has worked like a charm. One of the dogs is skittish and even the audible beep sends her running for the house (we put tape over the contacts so she wouldn't receive a shock), and the other dog learned to avoid the shock after about 3 weeks. Now, often the batteries are not even charged when we put the collars on and they still know where they're allowed to go and not to go.Having said all that, while I did put the wire down in the front yard in case the next homeowner wants to use it, we never trained them to recognize the flags because I'm not sure I would trust an underground fence to keep my 65 lb lab/pit bull mix out of the road. Therefore, I cannot comment on the effectiveness of this or any other underground fence for that purpose.Battery life is exactly as advertised, and our unit is over a year old and i'd say the battery life is consistent with when we first bought it (although as mentioned earlier, i do not always keep the collars charged). Range on the wireless remote is more than sufficient for my 3/4 acre yard. Installation was not fun but I knew what to expect. it took about 6 hours start to finish using an edger to dig the trench and a large paint stirrer to push the wire into the trench. Aside from burying the wire, the rest of the installation was simple and straightforward. Even though the wire is only about 3 inches underground, I have not had issues with the circuit breaking for any reason, and no issues with interference of any kind.Overall, the product did exactly what I purchased it to do, and if I needed another one I would definitely purchase again. Our landscaped areas are thriving and our dogs are as well. I recommend if you have similar needs.

Fantatic! Gave us sanity and well-trained dogs!
We absolutely LOVE this system!! While I hate the idea of shocking the dogs, I know that it is very mild (we've never had a yelp and only very minor and short-lived fearfulness) and only took a couple of times for them to learn behavior that has been very impactful to all of our lives. Our dogs are able to enjoy the yard to the fullest, we have sanity knowing they are safe (but of course always still monitor them), we're not being scarred by cable wires and the dogs are much more well-behaved! This system is WELL worth the very affordable price and I HIGHLY recommend it!! For those of you that love details like me, please read on!A little background: We used to use a cable tie with a run connected to two trees in our large backyard. I was hesitant to switch to an invisible fence because I did not trust our 10-year-old goldendoodle (65 pounds) to stop running after crossing the shock threshold, and we are on a tight budget so I was convinced we couldn't afford a wire system. However, once we added our one-year-old labradoodle (70 pounds), the cable ties were no longer an option. We tried, but it was impossible to keep them from getting tangled, not to mention that you're taking your life into your hands if you attempt to walk or do anything in the backyard. So, my husband finally found this system that can manage multiple collars, is very affordable (especially for what you get!) AND has a remote so that our girl could learn that she cannot stay outside the boundary and had to come back into the yard, as opposed to receiving one shock at the boundary without a remote to continue the message.Set-up was very easy and the manual was very helpful. We ran about 400 feet of wire, so the spool that was included was plenty and left us extra for the two times it needed to be spliced because we were lazy and didn't bury it right away before mowing the lawn... ha! Luckily the system comes with some underground grade splicing housing so we could fix it right away and then proceeded to bury the line. We found that the resistor is very helpful to reduce the threshold space, to maximize the space in our backyard and eliminate interference from other parts of the line. During one of the splicing incidents, we lost the resistor, but I contacted the company (in Australia) and they were very responsive and friendly. We made sure that when we set-up our boundary that it included the entirety of the house as well, with enough space to where the wire is so that the collars do not go off in the house. This has also worked to teach them that they cannot run out the front door either! The only place in the house that the collars are triggered is in the corner of my office, which is directly above the spot in the basement where the control box completes the wire loop. I just make sure that their collars are off when they're sleeping under my desk.On to how the pups are doing! This system thought of pretty much everything! Training was very easy and our dogs picked it up in no time. Our senior girl did become a little fearful (not usually her personality), but it went away after two 10-minute sessions. Our puppy learned in one quick session! The system first audibly beeps, then vibrates and finally shocks if they continue do not move away from the boundary. There are 10 shock levels, but we've never had to go above 4 (well except once we when went to 7 - there was a squirrel involved, haha!). We've pretty much only used the beep on the remote to train for jumping/barking/mouthiness. When barking gets too out of control, we may have to use the vibration, but have never had to use the shock. Both our dogs love to play in the water, so I love that these units are water-proof and come with rubber pieces attached that plug into the charging port to keep water out. I had a heck of a time getting them in, so I just left them and we have not had any problems with them. The puppy plays in the sprinkler non-stop, but we have not tested the units in a pool. Our girl did run past the threshold a total of one time, chasing a rabbit. I was able to use the remote to continually shock her (rather than receiving just the one as she crossed the line for systems without remotes) until she returned to the yard. She did not show any signs of fear or pain and has not done it since, even when I haven't put the collars on. We have also used the remote to control jumping, barking and puppy mouthiness when he was in his teething stage. It has been AMAZING.The collars themselves are tolerated extremely well by both our pups. We try to take them off when they are inside, but they are in and out allll day long (we both work from home) and so sometimes they're on inside. I also marked the collars so I wouldn't have to fit each squirming dog every time I tried to put them on (orange collar = black sharpie, black collar = silver paint marker). The collars will last more than a day, but I just make a habit of charging them every night when we go to bed so I don't forget. The remote lasts for days!We have not yet, but we plan to take the collars with us hiking soon so that we can train them not to charge other dogs. If you do this, just be sure to take the collars off as you leave the house (if you have not set up a dead zone at your door). The only two things I would change are:1. Make the water-resistant rubber plugs actually fit in the charging ports (maybe I'm missing something?).2. Somehow make it harder to not shock the wrong dog by accident from the remote (color coding maybe?). :( We felt SO badly that day. The puppy ran out of the yard to greet a neighbor and we were continuously shocking him to return to the yard. When he didn't respond to it, we looked and our poor girl was in the yard looking around very confused, as it turned out we were actually shocking her. It did set her training back for a day or two, but everyone got over it and we have been extra careful about making sure we're on the right settings. Not that we were careless before.

This product does not work as advertised for larger areas!
We bought this product to safely fence our American White Shepherd. We ordered the product at the end of December. We received it in January. We ran the boundary wire about two weeks later do to weather. We attached the transmitter box to the boundary wire as directed no response. We tried all the recommended trouble shooting. Still no response. We contacted the company. They sent a new transmitter box. We attached the box and wires. We received a signal at 1 1\2 feet out from the boundary line. No matter how high the transmitter dial was turned. We still received the same distance response. The collar and remote worked fine. We knew it could be an electrical interference. So we shortened the boundary wire to inside any known electrical lines. Still the one and a half foot response. I'm sure that there are people who have less than a 1500 square area to cover, or a smaller dog that a foot and a half would work. This product did not work. The issue seemed to be with the transmitter box.I DO NOT Recommend this item if you have a large area, a extra large dog or electrical and power lines on the property. They get the one star because they did try to fix the issue and their customer service people were polite.

Great Product, So many uses, Allowed my to have a dog in an unfenced property
I have been continually using this product since 2019. The package arrived in good time and was as described. Since installing the invisible fence option my dog has enjoyed roaming the yard without having to be teathered to a long wire. She has stayed out of the neighbors’ yards and the garden areas and it has worked very well for her and for me. Additionally, I use the remote control when we go to the dog park and I use it to calm her down a bit when she begins to play too rough with other dogs or just wanders too far away for my comfort. I also use it if I hear her outside barking unnecessarily or digging where she shouldn’t or eating something she found. The ability for me to give her a signal to stop from inside the house is awesome. At times I put the collar on when I am expecting guests as well as my dog has a tendency to jump up on people when they first arrive. With a quick press of the remote, she is much better behaved in those situations. It is rare in any of the above-references instances that I actually use the “shock” button on the remote. Generally, all it takes to deter bad behavior is by using the “beep” or “buzz” options on the remote.Overall, this product is very impressive. It has been very reliable, simple to install and operate, it has great battery life ad has so far absorbed everything from wet conditions, including snow and other dogs biting at her collar without any failures.I highly recommend this tool for not only training purposes and containment where there is no physical fence but also on an ongoing basis.

Great quality.I had a petsafe containment collar but wanted one that did both containment and training very happy. The only thing disappointed me was the beep sound is not loud enough.

This works!!!!
Bought this for our German Shepard puppies. They were about eight months old when we purchased. We have about two acres of waterfront property that sits back from the road. We used two rolls of wire to mark off a sizable area for the dogs to run and play. The boarder sits back about 100 ft from the road and goes to the shoreline. Within a short period of time they were able to understand their boundaries and as of now they have a very keen understanding of the boundaries. They will not go near the road or onto the neighbors property, they will also stay off the dock or in the water unless the collars are removed. They have never ventured past the boundary to the road. Most days now it is not even necessary to put the collars on. Just want to say thank you for this great product and for your customer service which really lives up to their name. Keep up the good work.

Defective Product is Unuseable
Does not work AT ALL. We never even got to the point of putting the collar on our dog as the sensor on the collar failed every time we tested it. After weeks of fussing around with different wiring configurations, testing and re-testing the collar, checking out how-to videos, and following the instructions to the letter, we came to the conclusion that we must have received a defective collar. Because this process was so time-consuming, we are now outside the 30-day return window and have wasted hundreds of dollars on a product that is useless to us.

Would recommend.
I bought this about 6 months ago. Customer Service has been great. The system is great. I have one older dog who doesn’t even need the collar anymore she understood the limits pretty quickly. My other dog is a year old and the collar stays on. He hasn’t crossed the fence but don’t trust him enough to take it off at all. I wish the batteries lasted a little longer on dual mode. But I try charging them at night when they come in to sleep. The remote is also great when we see him doing things he’s not suppose to do we use it. But you really ha e to catch them in the act to use it. My next mission is to teach my husky not to go after the chickens :(.
