This really works! Even for a stubborn dog.
The key to making this work was a combination of trying different choice words and finding something that my puppy really likes just to get her to touch it with her paw. I read the instructions and I tried different words like potty, go potty, go outside and full sentences asking her different ways if she has to go potty and she did everything but touch it, I would even put her paw on it and she didn't like it at all! That went on for two days. I decided to try something I didn't want to do. I recorded another button with an excited sounding Do you want a treat? And guess what, after asking her to press the button a couple of times and giving her a treat after pointing to it and right when she looked at the button.....she did it. This went on for 5 consecutive button pressing and each given a reward. I used very tiny training treats that have a huge taste something she likes very much. Then of course I had to put the button up out of reach until tomorrow. So I decided to put the potty button next to her bowl in the kitchen near the doorway leading to the backyard. I changed the words to an excited sounding Potty Dog showed it to her and fed her dinner. After eating she pressed the button and we went on outside and it has worked ever since! I was frustrated at first when everything worked up until I wanted her to press the button but we overcame that and once a day I bring the treat button to her for a treat fest and then return it out of reach, to use it again tomorrow. My puppy is 7 months old and is learning to communicate and very happy to see my positive reactions to her behavior. We are learning together and this is an awesome product! This gets a four paws up from my Hazel Woo and I give it a 10 star from the heart!

Smart dogs learn easy
Good product. My dog is way too smart and learned one of the buttons. She voluntarily picks up trash around the house and brings it to me! I decided to buy these buttons and train her to use them in her new game she learned.Of course she gets rewarded. Now when she can't find any trash? She picks up all the dogs bowls after they finished eating. She is always thinking of new things to try.I'm just not able to implement the other 3 buttons yet. It's going to take some time.I think a one or two button package should be made available to the public.

Batteries
I would gladly pay more for a set of either 1) rechargeable or 2) corded buttons. I was surprised to open the box and find that I needed to buy batteries. I don't buy batteries anymore and resent being pushed backwards in regard to hard won conservation efforts. I put them away, furious.During the cold snap here in Texas I relented and brought them out from boredom. I had bought batteries for my tv remote, so had a few. I powered up 3 buttons. Two out of the three are dead. One in a few days, the other after 2 weeks. I think the first one may have gotten shoved under a rug and run down, after seeing the 2nd one go dead under one. I rescued the 3rd today.I need a powered pad with pop in buttons before I spend more money on this. My dog likes them, understands them, enjoys rewarding herself with BALL, TREAT and TOY. I change the word so she doesn't get bored. The batteries are harshing my buzz.

Cute Way to Communicate
The media could not be loaded. This is so much fun and a really cute way to teach your pet how to get what they want! I taught my doggie how to ask for a treat and I have another one by the door to ask to go outside to potty. It only took him less than an hour to learn how to press it! I started with having him “handshake” and then replacing my hand with the button. Eventually he understood how to push down and receive a treat! I wish the speaker was a little bit louder but overall I have been using this button daily for the last year and loving it.

It will work!
If you have a pup that is eager to communicate with you then this is the product! We have a black lab/border collie that has communicated with us by putting his paw on our leg. We were given a talking button to try and we used the word "outside" and he picked it up right away. Please keep in mind, our puppers (named Asher) is brilliant to the point of scary.I then bought this pack of four. I added a second button and used the word "treat." This is when the manipulation started.Everytime Asher wanted to go outside just to mess around, he used the button. When a stray cat was outside. He used the button. Then the ultimate manipulation happened tonight.....He gets a treat when he comes in from using the bathroom and when he finishes dinner. Well, he had a few bits of food from breakfast that he quickly ate before he got his dinner. I noticed him eat it. He went to his "treat's button and pressed it. So I obliged just to see what he would do. I proceeded to give him his dinner. Which he ate. He went and hit his "treat" button again. I gave him another treat. He then hit "outside" button and I let him out. He came back in and he got another treat. He then looked at me with a big grin on his face. I asked him..."Asher, what have you gotten 3 times already!?!". He went over and pressed "treat."So let this be the moral of the story folks. If you have a manipulative/genius dog. Think about this. It could be a blessing. It could be a curse. We just added a third button...Asher was a little too excited......
