Very good quality and highly recommend.
You're going to roll cigarettes don't mess around and buy one of them little cheapies this is definitely the best there is. I don't personally smoke anymore but somebody that I live with does and this machine works great. I used to have one of those little plastic ones and they're loving this one. Worth the money! Most definitely recommend.

WOW! STOP BUYING COMMERCIAL CIGS! save money, stop 1000 extra ingredients from commercial. MUST BUY!
WOW! what an awesome product! I was able to make 2 packs of cigs in less than 10 minutes. I was not in a hurry, watching a show while making them. It is JUST THAT EASY! Every one came out perfectly; no issues. I tried the manual plastic ones for1/4 the price. They were aggravating and couldn't get tobacco to go near the filter. TOP-O-MATIC IS METAL. IT HAS A ONE YEAR WARRANTY! IT IS A MUST HAVE IF YOU SMOKE. I PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL NOT ONLY SAVE MONEY, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE YOUR OWN BLEND, WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT! I HAVE BEEN USING OLD HARD PACKS OF 100'S. I CANNOT EVEN FIT 20 CIGS IN THE COMMERCIAL PACK. YOU KNOW HOW THEY HAVE BEEN MAKING BURGERS SMALLER? SAME GOES FOR COMMERCIAL CIGS. WE IN SOUTHERN CA pay $10 a pack, I PAID 7 A PACK W/COUPONS! NO MORE! This device is easy, I have carpal tunnel; no problem. Also, it cuts the tobacco so you don't over-pack. this will pay for itself in a week if you smoke a pack a day. I have seen people who have been using this machine for 10 years! I HAVE NOT CALCULATED THE SAVINGS. I AM JUST SO GLAD I AM ABLE TO MAKE THEM FAST (FASTER THAN DRIVING TO STORE AND BACK) A LOT CHEAPER, AND WITHOUT ALL THE EXTRA CHEMICALS USED IN COMMERCIAL CIGS. Interesting point: Home made cigs burn a lot slower than commercial. They taste BETTER AND FRESHER THAN STORE BOUGHT! I am so glad to have found this; I have only great things to say about this product. DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!!! My ONLY REGRET; I DID NOT DO THIS SOONER! it is not messy like manual cig fillers. BUY IT! DON'T HESITATE!! BEST THING YOU CAN DO IF YOU MUST SMOKE. I am hoping to blend in non-nicotene leaves, then no nicotene, hopefully quit.

Rolls'em good but you better do it right.
I've owned this for two years now and it works very well. I don't think the design is the best thing, since the handle on it isn't in a very good position for keeping it still when pulling the lever, and putting the tobacco in it is kind of messy since there's nothing to really hold a good quantity in place. The rubber mat base is a nice idea but for me it's actually just annoying and I don't use it. The machine does need to be cleaned from time to time and I oil it a couple times a year as well to keep it operating well. Keeping the oil out of the tobacco chamber can a little tricky but if it happens just wipe it off real well before using it again. IT WILL NOT WORK RIGHT IF YOUR TOBACCO IS MOIST. Keep this thing out of damp environments and DO NOT FORCE IT IF IT DOESN'T GO SMOOTHLY. The injector WILL bend out of shape, and that happened to mine though I was able to fix it with some needle nose pliers. Also parts inside have rubbed against each other too hard and have taken visible damage that slightly impacts how smoothly it functions. If tobacco gets impacted in there, run a toothpick inside it to get any stuck chunks out. The rubber cap that holds the tube in place broke a couple months ago, but they provided a spare in the package, so I'm using that now which is nice. It has definitely paid for itself several times over in packaged cigarette costs and it's still going strong.

Smooth and easy - and a VERY reliable machine experience.
I've been rolling my own since 1999. I bought my first hand roller in 2000. I started with a Premier Hand Crank, which lasted about 3 years, I then bought a couple of Premier II's (plastic body / Used) at a pawn shop, and made a good one which lasted a few years also. In 2010 I obtained the TOP-O-MATIC Cigarette Machine from my brother who had a friend, who's father had passed away, and it was given to me partially used for maybe a year? It has lasted me for these 7 years, working wonderfully. The only thing that was missing from it was a Spring when I got it, which retracted the injector. It lasted so long, I neglected to think of having to buy a new one eventually. About a month ago, I bought some cheaper off brand tobacco, which was very dry, and crumbly / powdery. It managed to seize the machine right off the bat, and must have bent the blade somehow, which caused the machine to rip the tubes with the injection blade. I could not get it to work properly afterwards. The parts QUICKLY began to be much harder to use / parts started grinding, and wear so FAST from just one bag of tobacco that was improperly dried / too try. I rehydrated the bag with a grapefruit peeling, which ended up making it too moist, and worse of a problem at first go. Anyway, this machine works awesome, and I expect it to last much longer knowing what to look for in "problems" that may occur. Dry tobacco - not extremely dry, and not overly moist. This was the longest running version of hand crank cigarette machines I have yet to own. It is not interchangeable with the version I had, as this one is slightly smaller in it's size (1/8 inch tighter size), and the parts are designed similar, but not the same. However there is a detailed parts list in the Manual, and a way to order any part contained in this machine. So smooth, and easy I have to get back to being a gentle hand in rolling smokes again. Very gentle.. And keeping it clean will be priority. I hate Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr, and Obama for increasing the price of tobacco by increased unjustified taxation - etc.. Just and FYI to add to this review which has caused me to be a customer of this great device / product. I recommend this product, but I am bias, as I have used these type of machines exclusively and not the many other types. I'd like to eventually try some other variation - maybe electric or other versions - but this is my rely on machine. Probably always will be. Thank you.

Great machine. Fun to use and makes better quality cigarettes at a fraction of the cost of packaged cigarettes.
I just bought this Top-O-Matic machine and rolled my first pack of cigarettes this morning. It's easy to use with almost no learning curve and it works great. As expensive as cigarettes have become, don't know why I never looked into rolling my own before now. Obviously, the main reason why most people consider RYO cigarettes is the cost savings and it is significant, but there are other benefits as well. First, you can get much higher quality tobacco with no additives or chemicals and minimal processing. There are numerous brands and varieties of tobacco available and with a little experimentation, you can even create your own blends by mixing different tobaccos to get the exact flavor you like. This machine is designed to work with either king or 100 mm filter tubes, so all you have to do is select the size you prefer, insert a tube onto the fitting on the side of the machine, load the chamber with tobacco, then pull down on the lever to automatically roll the cigarette and eject it from the machine. Switching sizes is fast and easy. There's a small plate with a thumb screw which is inserted for king sized cigarettes. To make 100's, you simply loosen the thumb screw and remove the plate. There are several YouTube videos demonstrating use of the machine. I watched a couple of them before starting my first pack and had no problem at all using the machine. I had a couple of concerns that turned out to be unfounded. First, I wasn't certain how difficult it would be to pack the tobacco correctly so the cigarette didn't have gaps or voids, or conversely over-packed which makes it difficult to pull down the lever to roll the cigarette and also makes the cigarette hard to draw properly. It turns out that packing the tobacco to the correct density is almost instinctive. Tobacco is fairly springy, so unless you really apply excess force it's hard to over-pack it. I had a couple of cigarettes in my first batch with small voids in them. due to under-packing. Initially, when I tried to tamp them down to fill the voids, it didn't work but all I had to do was to roll the cigarettes gently between my fingers to loosen the tobacco slightly, then tap the filter end against the table a few times to tamp the tobacco properly, ending up with a little left over paper at the open end which burned away immediately when I lit the cigarettes. After some internet research, I decided to buy a couple of different tobaccos to start out with. The ones I chose were both made by D&R tobacco, which seemed to have the highest ratings from RYO smokers. I bought mine online from Nationalcigar.com. The blends I chose were their Windsail Platinum and their Vengeur Platinum, both priced at $24.50 per pound. There are much cheaper tobaccos available but even the best tobaccos are so much cheaper than buying cigarettes by the pack that I decided to start out with one of the top rated brands. I also bought three different filter tubes to see which ones I liked - Zen Blue 100's and Zen Blue Kings, and D&R Windsail Elite 100's. I haven't tried the kings yet, but both of the two 100's are fine. I have a slight preference for the Windsails. Although the filters are the same length, the Windsail filters are noticeably denser, taking a little more effort to draw. They seem to filter better and produce a smoother, milder taste. Almost all RYO tobacco is sold as "pipe" tobacco to avoid the higher taxes on cigarette tobacco but work fine for rolling cigarettes in the Top-O-Matic machines. In fact, one of the YouTube reviewers commented that "cigarette" cut tobaccos don't work as well in the machine as pipe cut tobacco. At any rate, I love the Windsail Platinum, coupled with the Windsail 100 mm filter tubes. It produces a light, smooth smoke with no harshness but plenty of flavor, much better than any of the store-bought cigarettes I've smoked. I generally smoke Marlboro Light 100's and these are better in my opinion than the Marlboros, at less than 1/3 the cost. For reference, you should get about 2 1/2 cartons of kings per pound of tobacco or about 2 cartons of 100's. Thus, at $24.50 a pound, the tobacco cost works out to about $10 to $15 per carton, depending on which tobacco you buy and whether you're rolling kings or 100's. The filter tubes will cost an additional $2.50 to $4.00 per carton, so your total cost per carton will run no more than $15 to $20 per carton, perhaps less. It took me about 1/2 hour to roll my first pack because I was still figuring out how to use the machine. I think with practice I should be able to roll a full carton in about the same amount of time. UPDATE: 1/11/17 - I've been using the machine for several days and have made a couple of cartons of cigarettes (about 15 packs, actually) for myself and friends. Although I'm not an expert yet, I've learned a few things that may be helpful to other newbies. First, the process can be a little messy and clean up is much easier if you use some sort of tray. I found that a regular cookie sheet, which I already had on hand, works great. I use a small brush to clean the machine after each use. I've found that I prefer using the 100 mm filter tubes, even if I'm rolling kings, as further explained below. The Zen Blue 100's are cheaper than the Windsail Elite 100's and both are fine. One thing that bothered me at first is that if you pack the tube fully, you end up with excess tobacco extending out from the open end of the cigarette, which will either fall out and make a mess or, even worse, fall out after lighting it and burn your clothes, etc. The easy solution is to pinch out the excess with your fingers or cut off the excess with scissors, then tamp the cigarette by tapping the filter against a tabletop. However, I accidentally found a much easier way to solve the problem. What happened is that I'd been making king-sized cigarettes and switched to 100's but forgot to remove the sizing plate, so I was using 100 mm tubes with the machine set for making kings. The tobacco almost fills the tube but never overflows from the open end. This has now become my standard way of rolling my cigarettes. The 100 mm tubes are more expensive but are still cheap so I don't mind. Also, I've found that my 100's burn almost twice as long as packaged 100's, so I usually only smoke 1/2 a cigarette at a time. I've filled an ashtray with clean cat litter and it works great for extinguishing a cigarette without crushing the end so it's easy to re-light and smoke the remaining half later. Of the two D&R tobacco's I've purchased, I prefer the Vengeur Platinum. It seems to have a richer flavor than Windsail Platinum but is still very smooth and mild. I may try some other tobaccos and filter tubes in the future but I'm very satisfied with my initial choice and may not even try others. My cost is working out to about $13 per carton using a premium tobacco and 100 mm filter tubes, including shipping. If low cost was my primary objective, I could buy "value-priced" tobacco and king size filter tubes and bring the cost down to well under $10 per carton.

Disappointed
Broke in less than a month. The entire handle fell off! HAND TO GOD! Worst Top roller I ever owned! I didn't bother insuring it as I'd been rolling my own for 30 years and never EVER had an issue with Top rollers. Good news was I still had time to use the mail in or on line registration warranty it comes with, as I had 30 days to do that. Or I thought it was good news..... YOU pay to send it back for exchange or repairs.... Aaaaaand THEY decide if you've misused the roller to cause it's malfunction. YOU pay for parts .... Yada yada yada. Wasn't worth wasting any more money on for no guarantees. You win some you lose some.

Top-O-Matic T2 Cigarette Injector Machine
Top-O-Matic T2 Cigarette Machine I have some 'machining' in my past. I read a lot of reviews about this piece and thought some of them went a bit overboard. No, they didn't. A quality made product, and from the looks of it, it is a USA made product. I have looked EVERYWHERE on the machine, paperwork and even plastic bags. If a product if foreign made it has to be tagged, stamped, stickered as such. If made in the USA it doesn't have to be tagged. There are Patent Numbers with US patent marks. I know this may not be important to some, but to me, it is... I took the rubber base off of it. There are lots of parts inside. These parts are smoothed down and no sharp, jagged edges. Yeah, they went all out making this thing. There is an enclosed parts list that if something breaks, wears out, or doesn't work anymore then order away. There is a $7.50 S&H fee which seems to be a bit steep especially since most parts are a dollar or two. Speaking of parts, the manual tells you how to care and clean your machine. Follow the instructions! Get you a can of 3in1 oil. After every carton or two clean your machine as instructed and apply a few drops of oil to the moving parts. IMHO, this machine will last you for a good many years if you take care of it. Operation is a breeze. Use quality tobacco. Do not use regular PIPE tobacco. Look for either 'SMOOTH' tobacco or 'SMOOTH' pipe tobacco. Regular pipe tobacco is just too large and course. It will mess your machine up! With your SMOOTH type tobaccos you may find some of the leaf is still a bit course. Use a small hand help Herb grinder. They are cheap and readily available in the 'Box' stores. You may even find some here at Amazon. But most home food processors will do just fine. As long as you do NOT chop up the tobacco to fine. The tobacco in commercial cigarettes is too fine to use in this machine. Or so I found. When you start to make your first MYO follow the instructions, especially where it tells you to open a regular cigarette to see just how much tobacco you need to fill the hopper. That will give you an idea about how much you need. Trial and error will help quickly. Don't force the handle. If you do that the warranty is null and void and they can tell that you did force the handle. If you meet resistance, stop, dump out the chamber and start over. Fill the corners of the hopper first. Use a small pointed plastic object to help push the tobacco into the corners. What I found to be ideal (because I really didn't find anything just laying around the house) is one of those cheap, plastic, $2.00 digital thermometers. Just the right size. Don't pack the corners either! Depending on your tobacco (don't forget about shipping & handling) the tubes you use, you will find that a carton of cigarettes will now cost you 'somewhere' around $10.00-$11.00. I am a heavy smoker. I mean, HEAVY! By using this machine I am saving about $75.00 a WEEK! I don't know about you, but I can use that extra cash each week. Take care of the machine and it will take care of you. Dale
