Great Tablet
Had this tablet now for 3 years, and it still works just as good as when it came out of the box. Quality tablet, easy to use, great for scouting the internet or just watching Prime. Battery is still great and charges well. Good value for money really as it has been well used and hopefully still will be for a while yet.

This is what a good tablet looks like
I bought the first generation iPad. Big, clumsy, slow, and pretty much a large phone without the phone functionality. I vowed never to waste 3-400 quid on something so instantly obsolete. Recently I found myself wishing for a tablet sized screen with a simple operating system, I don't need it to try and be my phone, I have £1000 phone that does ok thank you very much. I just want to watch TV on a bigger screen and a few bits and bobs. Enter the Fire HD. Price - check, size - check, functionality - check. I took the plunge taking advantage of the Black Friday discounts and was very happy with the result. Let's be honest it's just a big screen and some apps, but that's all I want. I don't need it to be my main technology link, the centre of my tech life, I just need a simple screen that I can watch TV on and do a few bits conveniently. The device is well made, looks good, has a great screen resolution, and you can if required tweak and fettle it to suit your needs which are probably different to mine. I can't fault it. So far nothing has produced a wry smile and a shrug ahh well moment, it does everything I need it to do, but it does it easily with no immersive research session on how to make it do the most simple thing. I don't need Alexa, switched off easily no complaint. I don't need children's apps, maps, home device control, word processing, etc. etc. I just need a simple screen and a few bits. So if you need a simple tablet to compliment the tech you already own with paying the best part of 4-500 quid because its loaded with stuff you will never use this is the tablet for you. I like the fact it's linked to my amazon account, I like the fact it doesn't try to bully me into buying services, it just waves them in front of me and respects my not interested response. I'm happy with that. The price is keen, the product is good, If you need a cheap, no make that good value tablet that has the level of sophistication that makes it easy to use and painless to maintain, this is your tablet right here. Very happy, highly recommended. Apple would do well to realise there is a market for a cheap screen with apps, we have already paid a lot for all the other stuff.

Amazing Tablet
Amazon tablets are great, really fast (if you don't overload them tons of useless apps that slow it down because they're all running in the background) & they're really great value for money Vs other Android tablets. Their appstore has most mainstream apps but does lack some others official Google apps like the official Android version of YouTube for example! (Seriously I don't know why Amazon doesn't just offer all the Google play store apps as well as their own games and stuff, they would dominate the table market if they did!! You can do the exact opposite an buy an Android tablet or phone and download every Amazon app for it from the play store!! I just don't get why Amazon sticks to their own appstore because some companies who make Android and iOS versions just can't be bothered to make an Amazon version as well because Amazon tablets are just modified Android tablets!!) I got mine on sale for £100 which made it a no brainer & a case that acts as a stand, so when I'm not using it I put it on the shelf and turn on "Show Mode" which turns it into a fantastic electronic picture frame. I'd wanted an e-pic the same size which could show videos & the good ones are also about £100 or more, so in the end I got up with the best of all worlds (a great tablet which is also a great e-pic frame & it can also show my security cameras footage). And btw there is a really easy and safe way to get Google play store installed on the tablet and then you can download all the apps the Amazon appstore doesn't have (another reason to get this tablet). Just wait for a sale like I did to get one of the best tablets Android tablets on the market for a fraction of the price of a like an equivalent Samsung one! The speakers are great, the picture quality is great, and the battery life is great (just be careful about to many useless apps running in the background to get the best battery life out of it.

Great device
I bought this during the Black Friday sale and am really glad that I took a shot. It’s really good, particularly given the current discount, plus the trade in offer. The screen size is great, a good compromise in cost and usability, particularly when viewing photo content. Battery life is good, so reducing the need for charging. In the box you get the Fire HD 10 tablet, a USB-C (2.0) cable, 9 W power adaptor and Quick Start Guide. A lot of set-up leg work has been done for you if you tick the box to link to your Amazon account, but make sure you untick if you are gifting to avoid potential headaches later. Also, don’t forget a case, as one isn’t included in the box. The display is good quality, perhaps not as crisp and sharp as that of my iPad, but it is really good given the cost differential, particularly if you get this on the Black Friday deal. It is a good size for watching media content and, with that in mind, I am glad I opted for the 10 inch display rather than the 8 inch I had been considering originally. It isn’t much more to have a better user experience. This is well worth getting on the Black Friday deal but, even if you miss that, it remains a good value option. A good gift this Christmas or at other times of the year.
