Works really well
I bought this lint trap for my laundry room sink over three years ago and it has worked so well. I love it. It keeps the lint and debris that gets through the mesh strainer and prevents it from going down the drain. But it still allows water to go down the drain. I may have to clean it once every other month, so it’s not something that takes a lot of work to maintain. After three years though, it’s getting a little bit harder to clean in between all of the grooves. So I ordered another one. Because why mess with perfection?

Great addition to laundry drain sink.
Buying again after eight years. Does exactly what it says. I have saved pounds of lint, hair, and debris from my drains with this. After all that time of chlorine, water, detergent, I dropped it on concrete and one of the fins broke. A deal at ten times the price on your sewers.

A must have for laundry utility sink
My washing machine drains into our utility sink and normal catchers would get clogged with lint almost instantly. This one works perfectly, lasts much longer before it gets completely clogged, and still lets water down if it does get clogged. I have to clean it every few weeks, but it's easy to wipe off the lint into the trash and it beats having my drain pipe clogged up

Works But Doesn't Catch Everything
On my washing machine the outlet hose runs into the utility sink next to it. I had been putting a nylon stocking or other similar material on the end of that hose but didn't feel confident that it was catching all of the fine particles. So I put one of those fine metal mesh drain guards in the sink drain. That worked well, but because it is so fine it caught EVERYTHING and would back the drain up causing water issues. That's why I bought this item. It is plastic and I liked that it could allow water to flow if the water level should get too high. I had trouble first installing it and realized afterwards that I should have cut one of the tabs as described on the package. When I did it I forced the product and one of the tabs broke. It's not a big deal because it fits the same as if I had cut the tab off. The product catches stuff but I still leave a nylon stocking on the end of the hose to catch more. I'm quite sure that there is still a bit of fine particle matter going down the drain and it's not catching as much as the old metal mesh thing. But I also don't have to clean this one every single wash cycle and that is a big win. It's easy to clean. Stuff just builds up around the bottom and eventually makes bigger and bigger clumps of stuff that are easily cleaned by hand or you could use some kind of soft brush. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it except I'm sure there's still stuff going down the drain but I'm hoping it is so fine that it won't cause any problems down the line. Fingers crossed!

Does a great job keeping lint out of wash tub drain.
This is the best thing I've found to keep lint, and other stuff, from clogging the drain in my laundry tub. Our dog sheds and there is dog hair everywhere. There are clumps in the sink after the washing machine drains. This lint trapper keeps it from clogging my drain. I take the lint trapper out, wipe off the lint etc., and put the trapper back in. Easy to use and it works much better than any metal or fabric lint catchers I've tried.

Excellent hair catcher
I give this product 5 stars, although I am using it for a different purpose. This product was mentioned on a “big hair” forum & it was my last hope. I admit I have a massive head of hair, think Donna Summer & Chaka Khan back in the day. I have always shed a ton of hair in the shower, like enough to roll up a golf-ball sized hairball (see pic of said hairball next to a q-tip for size comparison). Even the best hair catchers are no match for my locks. The problem is that they are all made to go DOWN into the shower drain. Halfway thru my shower, most hair catchers are already clogged with hair & blocking the water flow. I would have to clear the catcher several times in one shower session, forming a big pile of hair on side of the tub, in order to finish my shower without standing in inches of my own dirty water, soap film & conditioner chunks. This Lint Trapper is like a wonderful little rocketship that sticks UP while in your drain. I would describe it as having a skinny nose on the top, a slighty larger butt on the bottom, and an even larger waist in the middle. You stick the butt in your tub drain with the nose pointing up, and the waist part will collect your loose hairs. The beauty of this product are the slits in the waist part which are cut vertically to allow waterflow... so even if you have a ton of hair wrapped around the trapper, the water can still flow OVER the hairs & thru the slits, which eliminates the problem of the water standing in your tub. I also notice a good amount of actual lint in this Lint Trapper, which for the love of me, cant understand how I have so much lint on my body ?! But, lint is the intended purpose of this product, so it seems to be doing its job plus so much more.

A great item I never knew I needed.
I installed a laundry sink into my basement to act as a strainer for a washer I was adding. I didn't want excess lint going down the drain and getting stuck due to low flow in that drain. My father had a similar set up on his washer, and had installed a PVC tube sticking up out of the sink drain to act as a filter. He drilled small holes all around the pipe. Initially, I decided to copy him. After the pipe clogging up 5-6 times in a week (lots of lint being laundered I guess), I looked for options and found this. This device works wonderfully. It's super simple to clean and can collect a lot of lint before clogging up. It works so well I bought a second one and sent it to my dad to replace his home made pipe filter drain thing.Great item!

Doesn't work as advertised
It didn't work as advertised. I always cleaned it after running a load, yet depending on what was being washed, it would often clog up and stop letting water drain in the course of doing a load, thus causing the sink to fill with water and overflow. Once, the force of the draining water even dislodged it from the drain.
