This CV joint boot kit contains the parts required to repair the CV joint on specified vehicles without removing the joint itself. Made of quality components, this kit is engineered for reliable performance and durability. Review: Boot replacement - Easy to use and works good. Review: Split open after a couple months. - I bought 2 of these Dorman boots thinking they would be the answer to my L&R front axles. My guess now is you should prepare the mating surfaces by cleaning with a solvent (Brake cleaner-Acetone??) before gluing. This is not mentioned in directions, only the boot be clean and untouched by any grease or dirt. I jacked the wheel up on this side a few days ago. When I looked at the boot it was in the appearance shown in the picture. It came unglued and ruptured. My impression: This Dorman Boot is a stiffer type plastic and does not have the freedom to compress/expand or move as much as rubber when the suspension is bouncing around. They give you adjustable hose clamps which I checked a couple times and needed to re-tighten up. I looked at the other boot and it too has failed. I have done auto work since 1968 and feel I know when I failed to do "Right." I should just replace the axle but the 22 year old vehicle involved is not worth a shop repair and I am not doing the job myself. I should have requested a refund since 2 of these are involved.

Super glue gets on everything
The kit is complete and the instructions are good. Basically you glue together one side of the boot and then slip it over the axle and glue the other side. The super glue dries very quickly and seems to hold the boot together. The issue comes when you pack the cv joint first and then slip the boot over the axle. Some grease is going to get on the boot no matter how hard you try to keep it off. Make sure that you fit the boot over the axle before you put the grease in. The smaller end of the boot needed to be cut for my application. It is a bear the cut after it is on the axle as I found out. The installation should be. Remove old boot and grease. Glue together one side of the boot. Test fit boot and cut as needed. Install grease. Make sure your car is jacked up directly under the strut. Place boot over the axle without getting grease in the joint (difficult). Try to glue it without getting super glue on your fingers (difficult). If the super glue gets on your gloves then then you touch the boot, expect the glove to remain on the boot. They say 30 minutes but I would say 2 hours unless you have done it before. Even with all this, it is still easier than other ways of installing a CV boot.

The glue fell apart like kindergarten paper glue
I followed the directions to a tee today I let it set for 24 hours I turned the axle the CV boot that was supposedly submitted together ripped wide open and since I had to take the old one off now I'm in a bigger mess than when I started I want my money back do not buy this product at all costs
