Sturdy wood pieces were easy to follow and assemble without glue.

The media could not be loaded. The pieces were well made and fairly easy to remove. The directions were clear. The directions asked to use the wax in moving pieces but the package didn’t have any wax. I had no idea what wax they were asking for. But not using the wax some of the pieces are not moving easily. See my video. It’s still a very pretty box. And it was pleasant putting it together. A little challenging in a few areas. If you follow all the directions it will go smoothly.

The media could not be loaded. Instructions were clear and easy to understand. Primarily assembled by my wife, with some assistance from me (her husband) in pressing some of the tight fitting parts together. Better tight than loose!

I built this for my daughter as a b-day gift. She loves it - I think she almost cried when she hears it play music. IMPORTANT- I would suggest installing the music when installing the drawer. It looked like it’s be really hard to do if I waited to the end like the instructions show.

Okay, so, I'm not exactly a novice when it comes to wooden puzzle type model kits, but my only previous experience was with a different brand. I was looking to try something different as well as find a gift for someone so I took a shot on this Jewelry Box. The first big strike was against the lack of wax. From what I could tell, it was supposed to be included to rub onto the gear teeth as well as on some of the other wooden parts that would be rubbing together and despite tearing apart the box and triple checking, the wax was not to be found. Luckily, I had some leftover from another build and used that. The second strike came when I was punching out the pieces from their frames and bits of wood splintered off a few of the pieces. The other brand I was used to NEVER did this, so I became worried as I progressed that each new piece i removed was in danger of splintering. Luckily, the few pieces that did splinter did not affect operation and were only mildly cosmetic flaws. One additional tool I would recommend would be a small rubber-headed craft hammer, as some pieces were very difficult to install by hand and needed a good whack from the hammer. Overall, it isn't a bad model. In fact it is very beautiful and operates smoothly. I will definitely consider purchasing this again in the future should the need for a similar gift arise.

I’ve really gotten into putting these puzzles together. This box is sturdier than other ones I’ve put together. One thing is that the music piece isn’t included in the instructions. The holes are there and it’s still easy to figure out how to install it. I ended up installing it last. It was a wonderful gift for my daughter!
