Easy to clean, easy to use, works fine, not that sturdy but still gets the job done, quite light actually, good for small meals not for larger ones.

After decades of mashing, electric mixers and using a food mill to make potatoes, I've discovered the best potatoes I've ever made. My food mill gives me lump free potatoes but not the same flulliness. It's also a pain to assemble, use and clean. This ricer is a dream machine. Boiled some Yukon Golds until knife tender, drained, dried in the pan to remove excess water. Loaded the ricer, which holds a very decent amount and gave it a squeeze and after meeting some initial resistance (nothing a 75 year old man with nerve damage in his right arm couldn't manage) the potatoes squeezed out the end. The long strong "padded" handles made quick and work of the jobs with only a small amount left around the rim. Threw in some heavy cream and roasted garlic and a few quick stirs, seasoned to taste. Incredible! Light, smooth and fluffy. Just to kick it up, I put them in a oven proof bowl, topped it with parmesan and tossed it under the broiler until browned. Restaurant quality. Great build quality and a lifetime warranty. I can hardly wait to use it again.

I just riced some russet potatoes for mashers. This ricer work nicely. They were fluffy and creamy. Perfect. You want to make sure you don't overload the carriage. And squeezing the arm and carriage takes a pretty strong hand. In fact, I used both of my hands - and got it done. The arms have a nice silicone, or like, covering to help make them not slide out of your hands and to also help you grip them better. It appears to be stainless steel. I wash it in the dishwasher and it cleans perfectly. I had purchased one that you 'spin' using the handle, but it worked horribly. It didn't rice and it was difficult to assemble and disassemble to clean. So I wholeheartedly recommend this one. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. This makes the BEST mashed potatoes. Smooth without any lumps! Easier than using a mixer. I’ll never use a mixer again
