Extra Cushion and Great Quality, Just Needs Time to Air Out
I was looking for a new yoga mat because I have multiple injuries and needed something with extra cushion, and this one absolutely fit the bill. It is true to size and actually has a full 1 inch thickness, which makes a big difference. I am much more comfortable now when doing yoga and floor exercises. The included carrying strap works well and makes it easy to store, although once it is rolled up, it is noticeably larger in diameter than a standard yoga mat, but that is expected with the extra thickness. The only downside is that it had a very strong chemical odor when I first unpackaged it. I would definitely recommend letting it air out outside if you can. I did not have outdoor space, so I left it in a separate room with the door closed, and the smell faded after about a day. If you are sensitive to chemical smells, just be prepared for that part. Other than that, it has been great. Supportive, cushioned, and exactly what I needed.

over 1+ years use and it’s still great quality 😩
have had this mat since june 2024 and it’s still in amazing quality!! it’s so comfy, thick and soft which is why i bought it. i feel like i could use this thing on a rocky ass ground and i wouldn’t feel anything but squishy-ness lol so protection is so good. the color is still vibrant too (i got the lavender color) which i love!! really makes such a huge difference in my energy when i workout, making me feel like dat gooorl 👏🏼 i’m 5”2’ so there’s ample space for me. definitely slip resistant, im able to perform lunges with one leg on and off. also love the band you can wrap around it so you can transport it anywhere :) just purchased a black one for my hubby which is why i’m here again hehe

Quality, sturdy, thick & easy on knees and elbows
Borrowed two extremely sub-par yoga mats from my neighbors recently. Used them for a day and said nah - with my broken wrist and 30-year-old chronic back pain and ever-worsening knees, i immediately said $40 it is; I bought this the same day. I'm 5'9 and this mat is plenty long for me to do my stretches. This is a quality mat which is truly an inch thick and very supportive. I have 4 pets and I couldn't stand doing stretches on the bare floor or husky-hairy rugs. I didn't notice any chemical smell upon unboxing, but I let it sit away for several hours anyway. Hopefully I didn't catch cancer from the giant warning sign on the box, lol. Anyway, I'd buy this again, but you likely wouldn't need to with regular maintenance.

Still Going Strong After Months of Use
I’ve been using the Retrospec Solana yoga mat for quite some time now, and it’s been a solid choice. The extra thick padding makes a noticeable difference in comfort, especially for my knees and wrists during yoga or floor exercises. It feels sturdy and supportive without being too soft, and the non slip surface keeps it steady no matter what I’m doing. The material has held up really well over time and still looks great even with regular use. It’s easy to wipe clean, and I appreciate that it doesn’t have any harsh smells or chemicals. The included strap also makes it convenient to carry or store. Overall, this mat has proven to be comfortable, durable, and perfect for everyday workouts or stretching routines.

Good, but not 1 inch thick!
While I like this pad, it is actually 3/4" thick and not 1 inch as stated. The other dimension are 24" by 73", so slightlly longer than stated. Now that I'm using this pad I think that this is plenty thick enough and any thicker would be hard to roll up and too heavy. It comes rolled the wrong way, probably to protect the main use surface. I roll it the opposite way so that it lays flat on the floor. It also was rolled so that a deep crease formed on one end. I hope this will disappear over time. The firmness of this mat is excellent and gives you support without being squishy.

Comfy and cute
It’s bulkier than you’d expect even when rolled up, but I loved the color and the thickness was essential because I have knee issues from my years as a ballerina. It’s just squishy enough to be comfortable in use, but sturdy enough for standing on too. If you wanted to store it better I would suggest getting a harness that can be tightened rather than the free stretchy one it comes with (it also made carrying to and from class a bit of a pain since it slipped a lot while walking). I’d say the length was perfect, it was longer than some others I saw people using and combined with the thickness I definitely got some stares; but I was comfortable and that’s what matters! Definitely a good value and has lasted me well for years.

I approve 👌
Ok, I bought two of these, one dark green and one "sage" green or something. It was kind of odd that they didn't ship together. One arrived a couple of days after the first, but no matter... I read A TON of reviews on a TON of different yoga mats on Amazon before choosing to try these. I was looking for something long or extra-long that would be a good fit for my boo (6ft tall). As well as something that could roll up easily (as in, it comes with its own straps or a carrying case) but wouldn't cost a whole lot. I mean, we're talking about foam mats here — I don't need one engineered by a rocket scientist. 🚀 I definitely wanted the extra padding for our knees, and there are many options to choose from on Amazon — but I noticed a lot of comments regarding [bad] smells. Even in the reviews for this one. Still... based on ratings, price, and other factors, I chose to take my chances with this listing. I will say, both mats appear to match the colors advertised. 👍 . When the first (dark green) one arrived, it was packaged neatly and there was nothing defective about it. I made it a point to unwrap it immediately to see if it had a weird smell & was very pleased that it did not! 😀 . Then, when the second one (light / sage green) arrived I did the same thing. Immediately inspected & unwrapped it. THIS ONE SMELLED ODD. Hard to describe, but it's like a strange manufacturing smell. Bear in mind, these are made of foam material & dyed somewhere along the process. So, whether the smell was a remnant of the dying process or just from being stored in a smelly corner of a warehouse, I'm not sure. But again, for comparison, the dark army-green colored mat did not come with any untawdry smells. So that seemed odd & is why I suspect maybe it has to do with the dying process. Maybe it's more likely to happen with certain colors. 🤷♀️ . HOWEVER, it's worth mentioning that it was only a temporary unpleasantness. I unrolled it, hung it over a chair to let gravity kind of deform it, and let it air out for a few days (indoors). The room didn't get over saturated by the smell / it didn't linger thankfully and the mat itself didn't have a lingering smell either. After airing out for a couple (or a few) days it smelled "normal," whatever that really is. Haha. So I rolled it back up for storage. Our closet doesn't smell funny or anything. IT'S ALL GOOD 👍 . The quality of the strap(s) provided seems "economy" to me. Pretty standard elastic straps. I'll be impressed if they last very long. The stitching on them is fine although it doesn't seem particularly sturdy, but they work and do their job just fine right now! I like that it's all sewn together as one piece, so that it doubles as a handle to carry them with. Just because they are so thick, especially when rolled up, I would prefer elastic straps that aren't so thin — but I did choose one of the more economical options around here. So, that's a "you get what you pay for" kinda thing I feel like. . I'm looking forward to getting back into stretching & yoga and glad to now have a couple of mats that could also work great for outdoor sessions, thanks to the thickness of them!

Much easier on hips and knees
This is nice and thick and much more comfortable to lay on than the typical paper thin yoga mat.
