Q: Hi, i have a funny design on my bike. do i need to use the top part of the kick stand? or can i go: bolt, washer, bike, kickstand?

The bolt passes through that top part, then threads into the bottom part. That top part really is just a fancy thick washer. You can use anything you’d like up there that will allow the needed clamping motion - including one or two large washers.

Q: Will it work with a 28” Schwinn Trailway bike?

Adjustable & works for my 24" bike.

Q: can i use it on a dirtbike?

This part is tested and meant for standard road bikes. For compatibility with your dirtbike, we recommend reaching out to a local bike shop for further assistance.

The stand is too short to work effectively even on my son's 20" bike

The overall quality and finish of product is good but the extending stand is a little loose.The biggest issue is the fact that the stand does not reach the floor or support the 20" bike.
