Makes BBQ'ing Easy
Love this for fish, veggies or anything that can possibly fall between the grills or anything that makes the grill super messy and difficult to clean. This mat cleans up easily and I frequently use it.

This product can handle the heat
I love this product. I use it for my cookie sheet liners and I use it directly on the grill. I was worried that the grill might get to hot for it but so far I have not had any problems. When I grill the heat can creep up. I've let it get a bit to hot but this mat has taken the heat. I clean it with the scrubby pad that comes with it and it is ready to be used again.

Grilling made easy!
Hard to imagine but this product actually works like it says! I have used Cookina sheets for the oven for six months and love the ease of cooking and cleaning. They make foods like pizza really crisp and cookies turn out great. Nothing sticks to them. So, I decided to try these sheets for grilling. I was surprised that the grill marks on your food are carried right through the sheet. The marinade on things sometimes gets a bit crispier than otherwise as there is nowhere for it to drip to. But the ease of nothing sticking to the grill is fantastic! Cleaning the sheet was a bit more difficult than I had anticipated. I cleaned it a couple of times with soapy water and a brush and it appeared clean but ultimately there was still residue from the food on the sheet. I placed it on the counter and scrubbed it with soap and a paper towel and the extra elbow grease took care of it. Perhaps soaking it for a bit may be worthwhile... my dad says to "let time do the work for you," but I think he just likes to soak dishes and put off cleaning them until later! (ha) The price on Amazon is great and having a product that reduces the time spent cleaning your grill is well worth it! You really should try this!

No more cleaning the grill!
I saw this advertised on a different website and then checked Amazon. Better price and free shipping (Prime)! It's a large sheet and it was too big for our BBQ so we cut it in half. Just the right size. Being careful not to go above 500 degrees, we've used it several times for burgers, steaks, chops, & chicken. DH said the temp is not as hot as it would be directly on the grill, but it's easy to compensate. The best thing is that, after cooking, all it takes is a little soap and water to clean. No stick - even with sugary teryaki sauce and BBQ sauce. Then just roll it up and wait for the next time. Cleaning the grill was the worst part of BBQing and now I don't have to worry about that anymore!

Big timesaver
This is the best grilling time saver ever! The sheet can be cut to fit your grill surface perfectly and it can take high heat (550 degrees). There is no need to oil it and I have grilled any number of meats, vegetables and fruits on this and nothing sticks. It even leaves the grill marks on your food! And when you are done, the only clean-up you have is washing the sheet. No flare-ups,no messy greasy drip pans and no scrubbing of grill grates. Also it is completely food safe. A little extra care is needed when turning your food as the sheet will slide around the grill grates a bit. But that is the only negative thing I can say about this product.

Best kitchen gadget I bought in years.
Love the Cookina, it covers my entire grill area and is super-easy to clean with soapy water and a quick rinse. I’ve had mine for about 2 years now use it to grill fish and veggies without messing up the grill. Brought it on a girls weekend and used to prep fish taco’s - all my friends were so psyched about the ease of use... I got hem each one for Christmas this year.

Solves several grilling challenges
I used this product scores of times for over a year and it still is like new. So satisfied that I bought two more for my relatives. Great solution for several issues. Easy to use, prevents flareups, food does not stick to cook surface (especially when grilling fish) and cleanup is very easy. The pad easily cleans with soap & water, and the occasional scotch.Just stick to the guidelines by not overheating it..

Great Idea, Not so great in use.
I have used a Silpat for baking and it's fantastic. I thought this would be similar but for the Grill, unfortunately it's not.Impressions:Essentially it is just a semi-ridged sheet of heat resistant plastic. It's heat rated to 500 degrees, which sounds like a lot, however according to my grill's thermostat It can fairly easily reach 600+ with the lid down. Now since the mat sits on the grill surface, above the burners, I would imagine the heat at the level is higher then what is registered via the thermostat. Even with the lid up I have noticed the sheet getting a dimpled texture on the side that is exposed to the burners, even with the flame settings at medium.Use:Using the sheet is simple. Start the grill, lay down the sheet and wait for it to heat up. I found that the sheet adds 5-10 minutes to the pre-heat time of the grill. Even if you pre-heat the grill without the mat you will need to wait 5min or so for the mat to heat up. Also closely monitor your temperature as typical pre-heat with the lid down can reach well over the rated 500 degrees.Cooking on the sheet is just like cooking on the grill surface. You will see grill marks which is nice and items cook as evenly as if you did not use the sheet. Keep in mind that you can just as easily burn/overcook your food, so don't think this offers protection there. One thing I've always liked about grilling is that fat and grease drips away as your food cooks. Heck, the success of the Forman Grill was that, unlike frying, the grease/fat would roll away. Well this is where I have a big issue with the BBQ Sheet. The fat/grease stays with the food. A ribeye literally fries in its own fat as if you cooked it on a frying pan. If your grill surface is even (as it should be) the grease has no where to go. I seem to play a shell game while cooking fatty foods to avoid this, moving items to areas that are not covered in grease. I've thought about cutting drains into the sheet to allow the fat to drip away however this would most likely cause flareups, which in turn would put the sheet in direct contact with the flames, exceeding the heat rating and permanently damaging the sheet.Cleaning:The sheet claims to be non-stick and that is mostly true. It is not a simple rinse-and-dry method to clean, for most applications you will need the included scrubbing pad, mild dish soap (I recommend grease cutting) and warm/hot water. My issue is that because of all the grease/fat from cooking (see above) you cannot simply bring the sheet in to clean it right away as you will drip grease everywhere. This means letting it cool down to the point of the grease thickening so that its more manageable. This makes the cleaning process more difficult as the food has more time to adhere to the sheet, as well as having to leave a grease covered sheet outside for an hour or more after cooking.Bottom Line:It's a great idea and after my experience with using a baking Silpat I had to try it out. It does what it claims but has a lot of hidden caveats that make it more of a burden then a blessing. Physically cleaning the mat is simple, not "Wipe it away with a damp cloth" simple, but fairly easy. However the mess it creates, the fact that food is essentially fried (as in a frying pan) and the seemingly impossible task of monitoring the heat levels at the surface of the grill It's just more work then its worth. If you use a lot of public grills (beach, parks etc) then a big YES, get this. Don't risk using a filthy public grill. If your grill top is rusting and your not ready to replace it, then sure, this will buy you some time. But if your looking to make grilling easier, cleaner or potentially healthier then pass. It's a great concept that seems solid in theory, but reality tends to be different sometimes. This is one of those cases .
