Wow, What a Bargin!
"Tiffany-style Dragonfly Lamp with Lighted Base" from Warehouse of Tiffany's sold by Amazon.com with super saving shipping for $127.68.The lamp arrived on time and in good condition. I own many Tiffany style lamps and had my doubts before ordering, even after reading all the reviews that gave the lamp 4-5 stars. A lamp like this usually goes for $500-$800 so you can understand my doubts when the price was just $127.68 including shipping. The description of the lamp color was pink and green and I wanted blue but ordered it anyway. The lamp I received was most definitely blue and not green and pink (wonderful). The lamp and shade was covered in an oily film that was easily removed with a paper towel. The base of the lamp is base metal and not bronze or bronze coated like other Tiffany style lamps I own, but acceptable from a distance. The metal base easily attaches to the lamp base using two thumb screws. I did not use the included bulb in the lighted base and substituted a 40 watt compact fluorescent bulb with a small base that uses only 7 watts (very little heat and lots of light in the enclosed base). I leave the base on all the time as a night light (7W*24H*30D*.065/KWH=0.32/month) (yes, I only pay 0.065/KWH, unlimited, for electricity). I also used two 60 watt warm compact fluorescent bulbs in the top section that are turned on with two pull chains. The bulbs went into the plastic sockets without any problem. The base light is turned on with a switch on the cord and the upper part of the lamp lights with two pull chains. When this lamp is on, the colors and the light output are just amazing. This is not a little lamp, but a full size lamp that can fill up a room with light. Is this equivalent to an $800.00 Tiffany Style lamp? Yes, from 3 feet away, no if you look closer. The metal parts are just colored base metal. The glass pieces are claimed to be soldered together with copper foil. The glass connections look like black plastic. I need to do a scrape test to see if I can detect copper. The more expensive lamps use bronze to connect the pieces of glass. The shade and base are very solid and sturdy with this black material. Overall, this lamp does not compare to a high end Tiffany style lamp at $800.00, but at $127.68 this lamp is a real steal. If you are looking for a Tiffany style, blue, red, green and yellow color and light, this lamp is for you at twice the price. Another company "CK Stained Glass" is offering this lamp at $157.95 plus shipping of $4.95 plus 28lbs*$.50/pound called "Blue American Handmade Dragonfly Tiffany Style Stained Glass Table Lamp Lamps with Lit Base". The one from Amazon has a shipping weight of only 15.8lbs (very strange this weight difference). I don't know where the glass comes from (America or China), but I do know this lamp was NOT made in the US. The lamp has 400 pieces of glass, soldered together with three sockets, pull chains, small bulb and power cord and switch. The packing material (Styrofoam and cardboard plus shipping) would cost over $40.00 alone. This is another example of China building something at $.50/hour and selling below cost while undercutting our labor rates and environmental laws. We cannot compete with this type of business practice. Buy yours while you can, but when all our businesses close because they can't compete, where will we work and get the money to buy their products?

A very very nice lamp within this price range
I ordered this lamp here from Amazon after I studied the ratings carefully.I have to say that some of the negative comments, pointing out a plastic lamp are not true. My lamp came from Serena d'italia Tiffany Style lamps here in Amazon and it is definately made by glass and is hand soldered with copper wire.In fact the glass seems at the first view a little plastic like, but I tested it with a needle and it is in fact glass. I believe that soldering with lastic parts even will not work out.I saw already Tiffany style lamps made by plastic, but those have instead of the copper soldered black veins just a kind of black plastic glue between the sheets of glass. As I assambled the lamp and tried it the first time I used energy saving bulbs with a light color of 5400 this makes the appearance a way to technical. I replaced the bulbs with a light color of 2700 and that matches perfect (as more yellow as better) . Maybe a 40 Watt eqivalent bulb might even work better out than the 60 Watt bulb which is specified for this lamp. I will try this next. The lamp came, even very well packed, with 2 minor damages, which seems to be happened during the production process. There was no way for the dealer to detect it, sice the lamp was still in its original packing. The colors are very nice when the lamp is on and the colors are darker as on the picture when the lamp is off, which is pretty normal for a Tiffany or Tiffany style lamp.I ordered immediately a second lamp after I received the first one. For this price you will not find something similar. All in all I am fascinated about this lamp and we really like it. This second one came without any damage. If you like Tiffany style lamps and you don't want to spend thousands for one, this one is a clear recommendation.

SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!
This lamp is absolutely gorgeous! I had expected some problems in assembling from what other reviews said, but no problem even for a NON-do-it-yourselfer like me. The colors when the lamp is lit are even more brilliant than in the picture--lot of blue in the mix which I like; the dragonflies show up beautifully in white light at the base of the shade. The only downside I see is that the base has a separate bulb, which comes with the lamp, but to replace I'll have to remove the base and reach up into the lamp. It also is a hotter bulb than I use in items that stay lit for long periods of time. (I have a thing for various types of lighted items around the house, from small lamps to tiny white strings of lights around my wine rack. Also, the bulb sockets for the two larger bulbs seem to sort of grind when I tried putting in one of those nasty twirly lights and was still not a smooth fit with regular bulbs, but better. The outside packaging box was a bit beat up and the white hard-foam inside didn't look exactly new, but nothing was broken or damaged. One slight other concern I have is the weight of the shade compared to the post it sits on. I'm not that familiar with Tiffany style lamps so maybe this is standard. At any rate, I'm happy with the lamp (my husband likes it as well) and would definitely buy again.

Could have been better
I was looking for a new tiffany lamp for my living room and found this at a good price. After reading all the reviews I decided to purchase it. I would say my satisfaction was not complete when I received it. It was a beautiful lamp but kind of dusty-looking, as if I received a hand-me-down lamp. It doesn't have a new shine to it, it looks as though it was used for some time. I don't like the hassle of returning it so I cleaned and polished it, it looked a little better afterwards. But when lighted at night, it transformed into a georgeous exotic lamp. It is big and heavy. I would have given it 5 stars if the solders are made of shiny copper, not the black rubber-looking solder it has. I gave it 3 stars instead and not 4 because of the reasons I already mentioned.
