Fun for everyone!
I wish I could give it ten stars! My husband and I love Carcassone, but our kids just aren’t quite ready for it. This one was easy to learn (under five minutes to set up and know the rules!) and both my five and eleven year olds give it rave reviews. My five year old hasn’t quite grasped the strategy, but I can already see my eleven yea4 old getting there. It took about 20 minutes to play, and my husband and I agreed it would be fun even without the kids when we want something a little faster and lighter to play. Simple, well made, easy to play, but packed full of strategy and family fun. I can see us playing this for years to come. It’s a quick game as well; you can have great family time in a meaningful way. I hesitated a5 the cost, but I regret not getting it sooner. When the kids are older I have no doubt they will easily transition to the adult game.

Great springboard into tile games for little ones
This is a great version of Carcassonne for kids. I love the original game so really happy to have this one so I can play with my 3 year old. The mechanics are super simple yet still fun. Big tiles and meeples with lots of colours and details keep him interested too.

Great Game for 4 - 6 Year Olds
SUMMARY - My First Carcassonne is an excellent game for young children that teaches some basic strategy and is still fun for adults. HOW TO PLAY - The game consists of large chunky tiles that have a road on each side - some roads end and some connect to another side. Some roads also have children of one of the four colors. When a road is closed on both sides, a meeple can be placed on all children on the road. The goal of the game is to be the first to place all your meeples. The light strategy in the game is deciding when to close a road. I can close this road and place one of my meeples, but my opponent will be able to place two - not a good move. WHO IS IT FOR - Families with young children. I'd say 4-6 years old is about right - older kids are ready for the full Carcassonne. PROS - Quick playing, beautiful artwork, and not just blind luck like most children's games. CONS - I think this appeals to a limited age range. CONCLUSION - My 5 year old son loves this game. He really enjoys being able to build a little town out of all the tiles. Very highly recommended.

Fun game with our 4 year old!
My husband and I love original Carcassonne and got very excited when we saw this as a gift idea for our board game loving 4 year old. The concept is easy and takes a little bit of thought, which has got to be good for his developing brain! The tiles all match up in one way or another, but he had to learn to pay attention to places that could complete his roads for meeple placement. His face lit up when he realized that. The game pieces are well made, just like the original. Heavy cut tiles. Wooden meeples for placing. The artwork is cute and we noticed a couple of funny little things. The price was suitable for the quality. I love that there is not a bunch of little pieces to attach or set up. You just open the box, divide the meeples up and play. Super simple to start and clean up. Looking forward to getting this game down with our young gamer!

Great Family Game
This game is a great one to pull out on a cold winter day or whenever you are looking for some easy family fun! The gameplay is super easy to learn and is different every game. My family really enjoys this game with the colorful tiles and easily understandable concept. The simplicity of the game lends itself to being able to teach younger players the concept of strategy in a laid back, non-intimidating way. The pieces are easy to hold, easy to place, and it is easy to see what is on them. As you try to connect your pieces to get the most connected paths, you will have fun looking at the scenes of the characters running through what looks like a fun and whimsical setting.

A Good, Quick Game For Kids or Family
Simple for my kids to learn, but I think if you get much past the age of 10, kids will be ready for something more challenging. Tiles are very sturdy, and meeples are very durable, too, which is a plus, since this is a game for pretty young kids. Plays quickly. Would buy again.

Great game to teach strategic thinking!
Got this game for my five year old granddaughter and she picked it up fast. Her Uncle taught her how to play she picked up the goal of the game and was winning. Teaches strategy.

We love Carcassone and have been looking for board games to play with our little boy who is now 4.5. This has been very well received. He understood quickly what to do and how to play. The tile set and rules have bern revamped to make this version very accessible to children, there is an element of strategy but not as complex as adult carcassone understandably. Strongly recommend this.

Great game for youngsters (purchased for 5 year old) that adults can enjoy to. Great step up from ordinary kids games which have no skill/thinking involvement.

I have played the full version of the game with family and enjoyed it. I was looking for a board game to help me entertain four kids on a stopover! I chose this one based on reviews and boy I was NOT disappointed. Bear in mind these kids were a) not native English speakers b) aged between 6 and 13 c) hardened smart phone app gamers! However, after a quick 5 minute YouTube intro (do find it - it is well worth while) we got them going and they loved it. They played for about an hour which is pretty good for the 6yo. Later times they returned in twos, threes, with a parent etc. The best features are: Game length is perfect for kids The tiles are visually appealing - but the space needed is not excessive The meeple tokens are nice too Game play is simple to learn - but you can deepen your strategy - though there is a bit of luck involved - Good combo! It is not too combative and has no depiction of violence of battle. That said there is a winner (and therefore losers!) Whilst not a game to be played addictively, it is one kids return to from time to time and enjoy the fun of it! Finally, a good price! What could be improved - first of the instructions - they are not well written Better go to YouTube and watch someone play for a few minutes. Drawback is that it is only up to four players - no more. Also, not so much fun when just two players. Ideal for 3 or 4! There could have been some variant to the rules (e.g. like an inverse game where you aim to keep your meeple off the board rather than set them down, but it doesn't quite work! I am being fussy - its a great game and I fully recommend it to anyone with 3 or four kids to entertain.

The product was very good once it arrived. However it was overdue by almost a week from its estimate of arrival.
