Springtails arrived alive and well... Bioactive Enclosure!
I bought these springtails to make my mourning gecko enclosure bioactive and allow for some more biodiversity in their enclosure, and as my mourning geckos have decided, an occasional snack additional to their normal powdered diet and BSFL. The springtails arrived healthy, and the amount of springtails in the container was pretty large in comparison to what I've heard from other reviews. If you buy this product, know the two sellers are not the same, make sure to buy the normal seller for the products and not buy them from the other seller or you may find poor results like other reviews have stated. My springtails are doing their job well, and the price on this product is more than fair for the quality of springtails I received. I expect my springtails to last a long time. This product functions as expected, and I will buy them again if I end up setting up another bioactive enclosure and need another springtail culture.

All DOA
The media could not be loaded. This is beyond ridiculous all dead. Jar came empty in a box with no cushion of any kind I’m really disappointed in the entire experience.

You're buying eggs
I did as other have mentioned, put the container in my terrarium, popped the lid, and dropped some raw rice in. I had springtails within a few days but these are all freshly hatched so they're so small you may not be able to see them.4 stars because I didn't get the care guide listed in the description and the seller just kept telling me to put rice in when I asked about it.Almost 1 year update, this culture is still going strong, I just drop some rice and rainwater in every couple months.

Highly recommend
There was a HEFTY amount of springtails. Perfect for the size of my terrarium. I searched all my local stores and it’s a rarity for them to be in stock and you never find them in quantity. Will order again if I ever need to restock.

There was maybe a dusting of wet dirt with no more then 20 or so springtails. I wouldn't recommend buying these from this company not worth it

Impressed
I've used numerous vendors ordering springtails over the last 3 months or so and I know the quality can need got or miss for numerous reasons. However, this was by far the most numerous amount of tails received.Sometimes you'll have to wait a couple weeks for the weeks to hatch. Given the price and reviews of the product I honestly didn't expect much for $11 but wow.. upon opening the container I was shocked to see so many adult springtails active within the soil. I'm placing another order for a couple more.

Nice jar
I gave it 3 stars because the contents of the package were really "sloppy", and inadequate. To explain, the culture was supplied in what looked to be a very nice 8-ounce clear plastic ointment jar, with a black plastic screw lid that had an inner seal (very secure). All was good in the containment department, but the contents were quite disappointing. All I received was a very tiny blob of "mud-slime-dirt" with much water, it looked nasty. The amount of mud supplied was minuscule and did not even cover the floor of the jar, the majority of the space in the jar was air. Initially, I saw some white things on the tiny culture blob, however I did not see anything moving. I thought nothing was alive, but I did see some movement when I approached with tweezers to examine the small mass of wet mud. So I must assume that I did receive live springtails, but if there were any adults, they were not seen, I only saw very tiny bugs. There were at most a few dozen visible, it is highly unlikely that there were the 100's of live springtails that were promised, but there is no way to know. A far better packaging method would be to keep the same jar, but fill it with moist sphagnum moss, before putting the inoculant culture blob in the center. This will better cushion the critters and also assist with their transfer into their new home. I was disappointed by what was in the jar. I also did not receive a care guide, but that was not an issue for me. These guys are REALLY tiny, the picture above is magnified a lot. All the springtails shown in that shot could be covered with a dime.
