The sort of score you can fall asleep to...
And I mean that in a good way. Though the movie wasn't as great as the book, the score is its own entity that deserves praise. It's truly a beautiful, almost "gentle" score, with it's varios tones, melodies, and stringed instruments to make it feel very fantastical. This is pretty much why it quickly became my favorite bit of sound to listen to before I fall asleep. If memory serves, the tracks play in the order you hear from the movie, which is always appreciated. There's such a lush variety of soothing beats in this score, it's hard to really pick a favorite track, as they all offer their own type of beauty. Each track is its own reward to listen to, but I'm partial to "Outer Space, Soul Inside, Into the Cave, Soul Outside, Sun Inside, Dying Soul, and Goodbye Wanderer."Put simply, if you like subtle tones for your score, this one's for you.

Simply fantastic!!
I am a fan of having things simple and straight forward sometimes, and this official orchestral soundtrack for "The Host" is no exception. Beautiful melodies, haunting strings, subtle guitar, and an occasional tension created for those scenes in the film that needed it, the music truly enhanced and brought out the emotion the sequence is intended to bring to the listener. This is the kind of music I put the headphones on, light a few candles, turn off the lights, sit back, relax, and just let my mind be swept away in the lyricism of Antonio Pinto's score, picturing every moment from the film as I do. Great stuff and again, I feel the magic is in its simplicity.

A good rendition of an interesting story
I like this movie because it is different. The main character is actually two characters in one, battling against each other and working together at different times. The combination of the struggle for survival and the romance is blended well in my opinion, and the acting is not bad. It is not exactly true to the book, but most of the changes make sense in light of the differences in moviemaking versus literature.

I enjoyed the movie (though the book's much better)
I enjoyed the movie (though the book's much better), and I was not a fan of the other soundtrack, not to say it was bad, just because the songs didn't...sound right for the movie. I like listening to classical music before I go to bed or if I just need to relax, and this one does that (minus Radioactive). It's sad that Radioactive is "Album Only", but I enjoyed enough of the songs I would've bought the whole album anyway. The music fit the movie well.

Beautiful!
I don‘t usually buy movie soundtracks, but I‘m so glad I bought this one! This music is so soothing (except for the last track, of course), and it’s just what I need sometimes at the end of a busy day. I always feel better having listened to it.

Excellent soft, meditative music. Highly recommend
Beautiful music. Very soft, relaxing. Quite meditative. I watched the movie and loved it! And I just HAD to get the OST music. In fact, the music was so good that I actually BOUGHT THE CD instead of downloading for free like I usually do.Best music ever, highly recommend.

Soft, Gentle, and Very Beautiful
The movie may not have been amazing, but the soundtrack is great. It's beautiful and emotional without needing too much power. The main theme in particular is just beautiful. Even if you hated the movie, give the soundtrack a try. Some of my favorite tracks include:Soul InsideSoul MatesInside the CaveSun InsideSoul OutsideOne Strange World
