For those who are not familiar with pre-cat lacquer, it is what some professional cabinet makers use to finish their products. It is a two-part lacquer but pre-mixed or pre-catalyzed before being put in the can. Unlike epoxy, it has a working life of months in the can. It is much more durable that regualar nitrocellulose lacquer offered at big box stores in the paint aisle. Caution: This material is extremely flammable and the fumes are powerful. Wear a respirator mask with cartridges when spraying it. If you can smell the fumes with your respirator on, you don't have the right type. This stuff is nasty. Use in a well-ventilated area. It dries in to the touch in a matter of minutes and can be recoated typically in less than an hour. This is a professional finish that requires a sealer base coat in most instances.
