This is a well made, solid book which is probably more suitable for collectors. It features a beautiful, contemporary cover with foil detailing, however I was left a little disappointed with the imagery chosen to tell the story.The Lion King is, to this day, my favourite Disney film. As a child, I was always mesmerized by the rich colours and stunning imagery used throughout the movie, but the pictures in this book aren't anything like this, unfortunately. They're very dull and lack the vibrancy I was hoping for.Still a nice item to have if you collect these books, but not so great if you're after a bit of childhood memorabilia.

I bought this for my Disney loving and Lion Ling obsessed partner who also collects a lot of Lion King Merch. She absolutely loved it and immediately sat down and read it all while gleaming with joy.I'm not much of a Disney fan myself but was impressed by the quality of this book even though it is rather small. I agree with some of the other reviews, this doesn't seem aimed towards kids or regular Disney fans but will be appreciated by any fan of the original Lion King as more of a collector piece. It's filled with lovely concept artwork rather than the finished versions that we see in the film. This is a great touch as it shows the processes done from the 'Golden era' of Disney when it was still all hand drawn.Be prepared, there are a lot of fake copies about of these types of books. When buying here, make sure it is being dispatched by Amazon AND sold by Amazon.

These books are incredible and absolutely a must have for anyone who is a Disney fan. Do not be fooled by the recent copy cat books that have popped up on Amazon. Ensure you buy books by the publisher “studio press” to get these fab high quality ones and not the copycat ones which are being sold for (unbelievably) more money than these beautiful editions. The copycats have tried very hard to fool by even having a similar publisher name. Ensure it says “studio press” or “bonnier books” for these real ones.

It's a simple storybook of course, right down to the "This book belongs to" at the start. However the concept art is gorgeous and the cover feels nice to hold. I'm certain this is genuine, so go for this one and avoid the fakes!

This is nice. It is a children's version of the tale but if you're a collector then it would make a nice addition to your LK memorabilia.
