researched on consumer reports and here, chose this model for several reasons, including the slot size. good price, perfect toast results on all settings, looks pretty good on the counter. the ability to lift the toast up an extra inch or so with the lever after popping up is nice too,.... make sure to run it thru 2-3 cycles in your garage or outside before using it the first time on bread to get rid of any oilly burnt smell form the assembly process, then your good to go
