Go for the upgrade, well worth it
Weighty for its size (13.7oz, 388 grams) this is the meat mallet I should have purchased a long time ago. I've been using a cast aluminum mallet, and I finally tired of the black oxidation coming off on my hand when used. The stainless mallet is very easy to clean, and slides better when doing the dragging smack technique. The old cast aluminum exhibited a bit of friction the stainless doesn't in use. It cleans off easily and quickly. Do yourself a favor, go for this. Worth every penny.

Made well , lightweight, flat one side and beaded on other. Easy to use and easy to clean.

High end mallet
This mallet is top quality stainless steel, much bigger than anything I saw in the category. I recommend it for its function and possibly to open a fresh coconut and also other options in the kitchen or elsewhere.

Excellent product
Solid piece of kitchen hardware. Well built and effective at its job. Would buy again if I had to. I don't like the ones made of aluminum. This one is SS.
