Gastric ulcers occur in up to 90% of performance horses. Gastric Shield can provide a safe, non toxic and cost effective alternative approach for the treatment and prevention of ulcers. Deglycerized licorice and silica have anti-inflammatory effects and aid in the healing of gastric tissue. Copper proteinate is very soothing to the digestive tract and can increase tissue healing. Magnesium and calcium act as a buffering agent to reduce the effects of excess stomach acid and are helpful in digestive tract healing.
