DEWALT DCS388T1 Flexvolt 60V Reciprocating Saw

This thing is truly a beast. I feel like it will cut through just about anything. Battery lasts longer than expected considering the power output. Yes you can buy cheaper but this product is more than worth the extra expense

This tool comes with a 6AH Flexvolt battery, the DCB118 8 amp charger, a kit bag, and one saw blade. I've seen several reviews complaining about the noise coming from this fan cooled charger. I had it sitting beside me at work and could barely hear it. I also purchased 2 - 9AH Flexvolt batteries at the same time. All of the batteries arrived with 1 of the 3 bars showing the current state of charge. I put the 6ah battery on the DCB115, 4 amp charger, one 9ah battery on the DCB1106 6 amp charger, and one 9ah battery on the fan cooled DCB118 8 amp charger. The following charge times, till full, were observed: 83 minutes for the 6ah battery with the DCB115 4 amp charger = 13.83 minutes of charging for each ah 80 minutes for the 9ah battery with the DCB1106 6 amp charger = 8.88 minutes of charging for each ah 59 minutes for the 9AH battery with the DCB 118 8 amp fan cooled charger = 6.55 minutes of charging for each ah Obviously these times would be extended should the batteries be drawn down to 0 bars of charge instead of the 1 bar that I started with. But you get the point. The 115 and 1106 chargers will charge all 20V max, 12V max, and Flexvolt batteries. The 118 charger will NOT charge 12V batteries. This DCB118 charger is starting to be included in some tool kits. Look for it. It is a great charger.

Never used a Reciprocating Saw before but got used to it quickly. If you're new to these watch a video by a pro for instructions. Heavier that I thought it would be but it's a great tool. Happy to have it.

In hindsight, I think I would have been better off with the 20V max version. The FlexVolt Recip is bulkier, heaver, and the tradeoff for more power efficiency from a brushless motor is that the blade will bind more easily. When you're cutting material, this is not a good tradeoff. That said, for 95% of what I'm doing with it, I don't get into situations where the blade will bind. I commonly use it to lop branches off trees on my property that are too thick for bypass pruners, but want to avoid carrying a chainsaw up a ladder. This saw eats through these branches even easier than the chainsaw did which I used before.

Excellent to use it everyday and has a long battery life.

Great tool, works as well as a corded saws all. Definitely heavier than the corded version because of the battery but we don't have to worry dragging a cord around.

I use for pruning, dividing ferns and hosts....this is a gardeners best saw. I luv it

Works as described. Cut work time considerably. Lots of power. Recommend this product highly.

I had the small version b4 this new cordless 60volt tool is great there no lack of power at all I'm a framer and no complaints
