I have one resident and four regular Hedgehog visitors to my garden and they love these meal worms. As do blackbirds and Robins.

After researching on how to improve egg laying in hens and get a good calcium and protein balance, the calciworms were repeatedly being recommended. So, I thought I'd give them a try. To be honest I wasn't expecting much - dried soldier fly larvae can't be that exciting, surely? Well, I walked into the hens enclosure to give them a handful, after which (once they'd had a taste) I was completely surrounded to the point that one hen (Babs) actually jumped onto the edge of the bucket and got stuck in. Needless to say the girls approved and in future I won't be entering their enclosure with the entire bucket. Now, hopefully I'll have to benefits of strong, healthy, plentiful eggs!

Several Youtube channels suggest these are good for growing chooks. However, after buying, I discovered that it is illegal in the UK to feed them to chickens. So the wild birds will have them over the winter. Storing the tub well away from chooks to comply. Honestly, once I saw them, I knew I couldn't hand feed them to anything. Ugh!!! Nothing wrong with them per se, just ugh.

The birds cannot get enough of the stuff. Everyone pecks at it!

Went down a treat with my chickens, especially good if your chicken is moulting as they provide excellt protein as well as high calcium which they need, A little bit expensive for what you get though.
