Dial Indicator with Magnetic Base Holder Fine Adjustable Long Arm 0-10mm Tester Gage Gauge 0.01mm

The fact that you are looking at this tool means you understand micro measurement and things like lash or run out. The magnetic base that comes with this item is a pretty one for the price point. The dial indicator however, is total junk. Mine came with a bent needle and was so sticky and rough I ended up throwing it away before I could get one use. I needed the base however, so I kept the item and used my old trusty dial indicator that had a malfunctioning base.

Keep the base and toss the dial indicator. It has two knobs, one on the top and one at about 2 o'clock. Neither does anything other than being decorative. The one at 2 o'clock is in a threaded hole in the case but that is all there is. It literally doesn't do anything. The one on the top could be used to zero the small dial but it has no function related to zeroing the dial. I am not sure what it is for. The magnetic base is good and I am keeping it for that but I have ordered a Starrett dial indicator to replace the crap one that came with the base. The latches on the storage case are bad too.How can a manufacturer be proud of this?

Works perfect and a lot cheaper than snapon

No instructions included. The dial to zero out the gauge isn’t well connected to the gauge and you have to grip it just right to be able to zero it out completely. It’s also hard to get it to not move and get a consistent zero but that might be user error more than anything.

The dial indicator is of great value. It is inexpensive, accurate, and works well with my CNC mill. However, the magnet on the base is not very strong. For the price, the indicator with the stand is a great value, and I would definitely recommend it to introductory machinists.

I am sure it works however for me when trying to adjust the arms to position the dial indicator it slipped out of the holder and dropped about 4 feet to the ground and broke the lens and dented the dial. It never worked after that so I can’t say how it might have worked.

Works great and at a good price. Helped me set my backlash on my new gear sets quickly.

Accuracy is what I expected. The magnetic base works very well. The case is a little thinner then I would like but good enough. I will purchase more as they work for my use well.
