Lightweight non greasy
The media could not be loaded. It’s the right one I have been looking for. I am the combination and pore congested skin type, this sun cream is lightweight and oil free, you won’t feel it too shiny or heavy on your face, breathable.

I use it every day-see update!
Other reviewers have mentioned that the Elta MD UV Shield SPF 45 sunscreen rubs in without leaving your face chalky looking; I think this is true primarily if you have light to medium light skin. I have medium skin (half Asian, half white) that tans VERY easily, and less than a dime-sized amount spread over my entire face makes my skin look noticeably lighter. Not a huge issue since I cover it with a bit of foundation, but it think it is worth noting for prospective buyers with darker toned skin. The product does not feel greasy, nor does it make my skin break out. I've tested it in my garden in full sun for 1.5 hours (didn't reapply) and I didn't tan, nor did I burn. Even though I am using TCA and Glycolic skin peels (see my other reviews for product info), I have not noticed any unusual dryness or peeling with this product--I thought that the zinc oxide would dry out my skin, but it hasn't.I think this product is definitely worth the $$, and I will continue to use it until I find something more effective that costs less.7/7/2014 ** UPDATE **Well, here it is a year later and after trying a couple other types of "sheer" zinc/mineral-based sunscreens, I am still faithfully using Elta MD UV Shield SPF 45 Oil-Free 7 oz. on a daily basis. I recently participated in a 4th of July parade. Roughly translated, this meant that I walked 1.5 miles for 1.5 hours in 80 degrees of full sun with no coverage other than a narrow bandana and my sunglasses. Afterwards, I relaxed (again, in full sun) along the street to watch the remaining parade events for another 40 minutes. When we came home, I showered and examined the damage, because surely the midday sun took a beating on my sweaty, most likely very sunburnt face. Unbelievably, I didn't even have tan lines from the glasses and bandana! Please note that I was also wearing my daily Almay SPF 15 foundation. However, I used to wear this foundation without any additional sunscreen in my garden and saw noticeable color after about 30 minutes, so I am 100% sure that the sunscreen is what saved my face. The price on this product ranges quite a bit from season to season. At this point I am no longer looking for alternatives, so I'm keeping it in my Amazon cart and will stock up on the 7 oz. size whenever I see that the price has gone down (which it often does in the summer). Great for Dry Skin!
Elta MD UV Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 45 - 7 oz.: The label on this sunscreen says it is for "Oily to Normal Skin." Thanks to a review by Paul Begoun (Beautypedia, Cosmetics Cop, Paula's Choice) in which she states that it is better for dry skin than oily skin - I gave it a try. I absolutely love it for my slightly dry skin. It is moisturizing, light, fragrance-free and gives a slightly dewy look, but not shiny - and I don't feel the need to put any powder over it. I see this working for Normal to Dry Skin. I don't see it working for Oily Skin.I was using the Elta MD Clear SPF 46 on my face before trying this one. I would compare the two in this way: The "Clear" is far more expensive, feels a bit heavier on the skin with a very slight tackiness to it, is more drying and even though both are fragrance-free, the "Clear" has a bit more of an odor to it. The "Clear" is a great product, and would be especially good for oily skin I think, but for me, the SPF 45 wins hands down in every way!I was using the Elta MD UV Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 on my body before trying this one. The SPF 30 is wonderful, but I am now using the SPF 45 on both my face and body. The SPF 30 is lighter, almost refreshing, and feels just wonderful. But the SPF 45 feels really good too, is a bit more moisturizing - and I like the higher SPF and the simplicity of using one product on both face and body.I should add that none of these products have given me any kind of a white cast. I have very light - but not truly fair - skin. I am a sunscreen junkie and have been all over the map with trying out different sunscreens for years - and Elta MD is the best I have found so far. It is hard for me to imagine any improvement on Elta MD UV Shield SPF 45. And Paula Begoun's Beautypedia reviews have been my bible for years. Just like I don't buy an appliance without checking it out first with Consumers Reports, I don't buy a beauty product without checking it out first on Beautypedia.com. I have saved a lot of money and avoided many disappointments by referring to Beautypedia first.

Never greasy/sticky and always protects
My favorite sunscreen of all time. I use this on my face, neck, arms daily. It never feels greasy and it always protects. My skin does not have that sunscreen cakey/sticky feeling throughout the day with this particular formula from Elta. I've tried other formulas from Elta that are formulated for the face, and I still always come back to this one.During the day when I wear make up, I use a daily moisturizer on my face first, then this sunscreen, then a primer and foundation and the combination never feels heavy on my face. In fact, if I use just my moisturizer and primer/foundation on my face without this Elta sunscreen, my face ends up much more oily at the end of the day. This is the only formula I've ever used that does not give me break outs! And I've tried many in the 15 years I've had to wear sunscreen daily due to Lupus. This bottle is expensive but it lasts a long time. With nearly daily application to face/neck/arms and extra applications during the summer at the pool etc. I replace this bottle about every 8 months according to my Amazon history. Also, I use it on my young daughter's face and she's never complained about it burning her eyes, not even after getting in the pool.I don't know what I would do without this!

Best sunblock I've used.
Been using this sunblock for about 7-8 years now. It works great! It's not a moisturizer so you'll need to moisturize first, let dry, then add sunblock. Best part? I don't smell like a coconut after application.
