Tips for replacing a damaged Ribbon Cable in a PS2 Motherboard During a Noctua Fan Mod
Don't worry if it seems the clip holding the cable on the motherboard side is defective. I struggled with this for an hours, even tried taping and gluing the OEM ribbon. That was a mistake, thankfully I was able to remove the tape and glue and it didn't damage the board. lol When installing a cable into the motherboard slot, it may not seem to go in all the way at first. You need to push firmly (but not forcefully) until it stays in place. Initially, I thought I had damaged the clips, but the issue was actually with the OEM ribbon cable being slightly thicker than the PS2 cable. Another tip: instead of taking the PS2 apart further, the shield can prevent the clip from opening fully. Using a plastic spudger tool I had to gently wedge between the shield and the board to lift it just enough to insert the ribbon fully. Once the ribbon is in, close the clip, and it should stay secure. All this for the Noctua mod...lol Which by the way is running awesomely. Just make sure to get the 5v noctua fan. Hope this helps someone.

Works well
Purchased this cable because I accidentally broke the old one. It took a while to secure, but I eventually got it and now I can use my PS2 once again. My PS2 is a model SCPH-30001.

Works great, but there's a trick
Some will notice that when pushing the cable into the slot in the motherboard it doesn't seem to go in all the way. You need to push REALLY hard and it will go in. The cable is slightly thicker than the OEM PS2 cable. Don't be afraid either. I thought the clip that held the cable in on the motherboard side was defective. I spent an hour trying tape and what not until I just decided to push it a little harder.

really disappointed
yeah the picture looked kind of small but thought it was just the picture as it says 30000 and 50000 and my system is a 30001 so I bought it hoping it would work

Fixed my controller issue.
My PS2 had a issue with the controllers sometimes not working and after checking I suspected the ribbon cable. After replacing it no more issues.
