Definitely a step up from a manual sander.
It's heavy. It worked great and so convenient with the vacuum attachment. I found that I did not need to order the sandpaper with the holes in it like the manual sander but I used them anyway as I had them in stock . The vacuum attachment needed a piece to make it fit on my shop vac. It arrived pretty fast so that was a plus, as I was not looking forward to the cleanup with the manual sander.

Might be the best tool I've ever bought
Most people would agree - drywall sanding is the worst part of home renovation. Time-consuming and terribly dusty. I took a leap buying this, but it is worth every penny. Better/smoother finish than other methods, probably cuts down on time by 5-10x, and dramatically cuts down on dust. Because it is so effective, I recommend getting a centrifugal separator (~$60; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CN7DC7N9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) to attach in-line with your shop-vac to avoid caking the filter. That was the weak link. I built a small platform with casters, such that everything moves as one - it is otherwise somewhat cumbersome.

Happy with purchase
Surprisingly easy to use. Would recommend 340 grit for final sanding. 220 tended to leave a few swirl marks. Battery life is adequate. Definitely a time saver.

Amazing
This tool made short work of some uneven ceiling repair work I had to do. What would have taken an hours worth of sanding, dusting, feeling out to ensure it’s feathered took all of 5 minutes. Had it hooked up to the shop vac and there was very little dust. Battery usage was not an issue for me since it was not a whole room. I’m As I go thru remodeling the rest of the house I already see the hours this will save me in work and clean up. Light weight and easy to use. Highly recommend for remodelers and for handy men doing repair work where there’s uneven taper in the board from previous botched repair work.

Should have purchased sooner
I'm renovating my home and doing a lot of drywall install and repair. I should have purchased this a year ago and saved myself a ton of work. I an adapter for the shop vac so it can hook up directly and suck most of the drywall dust from the sanding. Does a good job. I couldn't justify spending $$$ on Festool so this was a good in-between. Previously I bought a cheap, Chinese knockoff that was heavy and shocked me every time I used it. After returning it I decided to go up one level with this Dewalt cordless. It's lighter and easier to manage. I just wished it had an LED light built into the head so I can see ridges and imperfections easier when working overhead.

Worth every penny
Absolutely excellent. I’ve used porter cable power sanders for over 20 years and I’m really impressed with the Dewalt. I bought two 6Ah batteries and one battery sanded about 90 10ftrs (3600sq ft and there were an alarming amount of Butt joints- probably 30 too many- which is more sanding obviously). The sander is very quiet and does not have a power rattle-it turns on smooth and turns off smooth. The telescoping neck sold itself- it makes you wonder what took so long to see that on a sander-closets are now a breeze. The price to me personally was amazing to have one less cord in your set up. You’re also saving money because you no longer Need a tool activated vacuum- you can go buy a 5 hp rigid vacuum which the hepa filters and bags are cheap. For how much We use the power sander(at least twice a week) they usually need to be replaced/rebuilt every two years- so this power sander being about 400$ is great- and the batteries (sold separately) have a 3 year warranty. All in all a great sander- it is a little heavier than the porter cable but you get used to it very quick- and not having the power cord is one less thing to annoy you!

Waited too long to buy it.
Considered one for years, shouldn't have questioned it for more than a day. Hand sanded 3500 sqft over a few years, got a deal on one of these and said screw it let's see how it does, in 1 day I sanded 2800 SQft in a few hours. Used the DeWalt 150 grit and another cheaper brands 150 grit, both hook and loop mesh. Spent the money to upgrade the disc (for the extra 30$ they should just make it a price increase and have included it) to the one with lots of holes and a hard backing, it improved dust collection tremendously and it honestly wasn't bad with the soft padded disc in the first place. It is heavy (and I am an ox) and doesn't reduce it's weight with it's suction. It's not balanced enough to be fully comfortable but it is very doable for those willing to work with not against it. With a standard shop vac and the speed set low 1-3 range it leveled surfaces quickly. 5ah batteries lasted about 20-25 minutes (enough to do a 12x15 room, walls and ceilings). Don't have one of the newer variable speed vacuums that is Bluetooth or remote to so I won't comment on how much those improve the product.

Économie de temps incroyable ! Fonctionne super bien et pas trop lourd. Cest un de mes meilleurs achats! Seul petit "hick" l'adaptateur pour la balayeuse n'est pas inclus

Just another amazing tool to add to my army of 20V MAX Monsters. I operate my contracting company specifically on this platform and have yet to be let down yet. The only corded tool I still have is the dust collector hooked to this sander and it is an unstoppable combo.

It does speed things up goes threw batteries a bit slower than I expected. One complaint is it would b nice if it could extend one more foot for 9ft ceiling it does reach at its current lenght but a little more to work with would b nice get ready to lightly sand everything out when. Your doin your light check will leave swirls all over the place whem getting used to it than you'll leave half as many once get the hamg of it. all around a good tool that does the job as expected

Love it, wish it was lighter but they’re all heavy.

Works amazing, saves time and pretty much no dust, even on ceilings. One of my best tool purchases ever. Also great for smoothing out old lumpy paint jobs before a fresh coat, wish i had it sooner.
