UC-II® Standardized Cartilage = 40 mg (Total Collagen 10 mg) The collagen in UC II is derived from chicken sternum, so it is not obtained from bovine, porcine or shellfish sources. The multi-patented UC-II® manufacturing process produces a collagen protein that is of full length, which means it retains its native (undenatured) 3D structure. UC-II® brand collagen complex with undenatured type II collagen (U.S. Patents 7,846,487, 7,083,820 and EPO Patent EP1435906B1; Canadian Patent CA 2459981C; and Japanese Patent JP 4800574B2)

Q: if i am taking a hydrolyzed peptide collogen powder that has type 1 and iii should i take this also to get ii?

It is recommended to take those separately. So taking the one and three combination in the morning with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid. Then taking the collagen two level at the evening: an hour before bed on an empty stomach with some vitamin C like orange juice or apple juice. It has been suggested, though not proven, that these work to help calm and allow a better sleep.

I have always heard that UC-II is from chickens but I don't know if that is true.
