Works just fine, literally plug'n play with Windows 7 and Linux computer systems.Note the pins brought out to the female header are: GND, CTS, VCC, TXD, RXD, and DTR. And there is also a three prong header (on top of the board) with a jumper to control the I/O voltage (VCC) is either 3.3 or 5 volts.Update March 8th, 2016:WARNING: These boards have the Mini-B USB port's ID pin tied directly to VBUS +5 volts which will cause a power short if you use a OTG Host to mini-B adapter cable as those kind of cables tie ID pin to GND. Found out the hard way why these boards wouldn't show up on a single board computer using the OTG port while other USB peripherals were functioning. Luckily the host boards I was testing with have power short protection circuit. I can only assume whoever designed these adapter boards misunderstood the OTG specification as the ID pin should have been left floating/unconnected on the PCB for peripherals. Other than that these serial adapter boards work just fine.

Great product for the price
Works as advertised. The voltage selection jumper is extremely useful when working with a variety of devices. Just be sure to always verify the setting for your current device.Note that while this cable does output power, I found that I still needed to apply external power to program an esp8266.Using this with a switched USB hub, I also noted that the chip can be powered by the 3.3v pins from the target board. This voltage seems to feed back into the usb port. This is one reason I strongly recommend using a hub with this device. You don't want to risk frying your built in usb port because you misfire something, particularly in the case of laptops with few ports to begin with.

It work like a charm with no hassle
I bought this to use with a LittleBlue Arduino Compatible ATMega328. It work like a charm with no hassle. It appears to be well made. The 3.3V/5V option is a really nice feature.

High quality, as described.
high quality, as described. Pay careful attention to wiring. Some FTDI cables have different color codes.

Five Stars
Worked fine - especially useful when I "bricked" my Galileo Gen 2 and had to re-flash the boot loader.

It Works!
After wasting hours of frustration on other "low cost" FTDI units, this one worked exactly as expected. Absolutely no problems!
