Will this work to activate a pump that draws water from a natural well? The property does not have mains water

Can’t see why it shouldn’t, I have no mains water, I have a storage tank and it works great. It starts the pump up when there is a drop in pressure ie: when someone opens a tap on the positive side. Then the pump shuts off when the pressure has built back up.

would this switch a Solar 24V DC pump ? does it purely respond to water pressure i.e. is it mechanical or does it also need mains to operate?

Sorry I never bought it in the end. I use some other pump.
