Great, utilitarian mesh system....
I used to be a router snob. No more. I had an ultra-expensive router at my home a few years ago when a friend asked me to come help him install this system in his new home. I did and it was easy to install--and it gave him fine speed for his needs, adequately covering a 6000 sq. ft home. My ultra-router has been nothing but a pain in the years since while this Netgear ultra-cheap mesh set has just plugged away, performing reliably well in my friend's house. So when I needed a router for my vacation cottage, this is what I bought--a refurbished mesh set for dirt cheap, and it's working just fine. I like the fact that I can manage the vacation cottage's router from home. But most of all, I like that it's cheap, reliable and sufficiently fast to handle my 300 megabits/second service.Really, this is all most of us will ever need. And in the recent past I've spent over $500 on a single router. The only thing this set seriously lacks is wired ethernet that goes faster than 1gb/sec.

Phone walker
I have had this product for several months and am still happy with it. My home has a metal roof and I live in the country where WiFi signal is spotty. I was dropping calls all over my house and if I stepped outside on my porch I would disconnect from the WiFi. I bought this product hoping it would solve some of my problems. Woo did it. It was very easy to install. The WiFi signal is very strong and has good stability. The coverage is amazing. I haven’t not dropped a call since installing it and I can even walk in the middle of my yard and still talk on the phone.

Best mesh system I've owned
First, this was a great deal, couldn't pass up an Amazon refurbished item at this price point. It wasn't the easiest mesh to set up, you legitimately need to follow the steps very carefully, otherwise you'll have to reset all three devices and start from scratch.Once all three devices are set and it has gone through it's software updates, the mesh system works flawlessly.Coming from a TP link mesh system, this is a huge upgrade; the switch between the main modem and the satellite connections is seamless, the speeds are excellent, the ability to connect a device on Ethernet to the satellite for faster speeds is amazing. All three satellites are sleek, they mesh well with the decor of my house, there's no antennas or flashy lights everywhere. I 3d printed a bracket for one of them and mounted it on a wall, out of sight and out of mind. The app works great, if for some reason you need to reboot the router, monitor who's using all your bandwidth, or stop your kids from using data on their Xbox when they should be studying, you can do it from there.

Suddenly DIED 1.5 years in
Worked well enough for about 1.5 years. I’ve had some connectivity issues and have had to reset it a few times. Internet speeds have been good. But all of a sudden this thing just straight up died on me today. I can’t get the main router to turn on no matter what I do. It’s completely dead out of nowhere. Now I have to go spend even more money on something else. Do not recommend this. Get something more reliable that won’t just flat line all of a sudden. Oh and of course the warranty is now expired. THANKS NETGEAR! #neveragain

Solid rebuild
This was a real value for the price. It was factory refurbished, but looked brand new. Not sure why they had so many refurbished units to sell, but they must have addressed the issues. Signal good, mesh works, and expected features are present. For example, I found a way to configure without the phone app - although I didn't have to contact DLINK, I'm dinging tech support a tad for the website confusion using a regular browser - they could improve the navigation. If they are still available, I recommend it as a replacement to monolithic router solutions...would even consider buying one new for almost twice as much.

Don't think. Just buy.
I just moved to a bigger house, from 1,200 sq/ft to about 2,600, so I knew I would have to make up wifi coverage shortfalls at some point. The old Cox panoramic router we had did just fine in the center of the previous house, but there weren't any solid places to install our Cox fiber setup, so it is on the second floor at the end of the house furthest from my office.I did speed tests after the install, at the modem and then in my office, just to see how bad the drop-off was from that far away, and I knew I needed to get something ASAP. I already have another Nighthawk router for all of my smart home devices, so I decided to go with these. Setup was very easy, took less than 10 minutes to get the main one attached to my account, the satellites paired, and the SSID/PW changed to what I wanted.I rarely write reviews, that's how good this is.The first picture is right next to the Cox router after install, second is in my office before getting the Nighthawk mesh extenders, and the third picture is in my office after installing the Nighthawks with one on my desk.

It's cheap, but it works!
I had a Spectrum provided SageCom router that could not provide a good wi-fi signal throughout the house. I had to plug the gap with an old Apple Airport which meant we had to switch SSID frequently. I also had to divide 2G and 5G services or 2G-only home automation devices would not instal or connect reliably. Two music streaming devices would not connect reliably at all, and I had to hard wire them.I thought we needed a Mesh system, but most of them are around $2k, including most of Netgear's other models. Then I saw this Netgear Mesh setup for around $100 and thought I'd give it a go - after all, with Amazon you can always send it back!I am so glad I tried it. Setup was easy, and now we have:(a) faster wi-fi speeds overall(b) a much wider coverage of wi-fi(c) no need to switch between networks(d) my music streamers now connect happily, and I could remove the wires(e) effective and reliable installation and support of 2G-only devices without splitting networks. My home is full of home automation devices, and I install them for a living, This is my first ever first Amazon review because I am that enthusiastic. Go for it...
