30" White Large Butterfly Habitat, Monarch Habitat, Butterfly Cage for Caterpillars, Flying Insect Mesh Cage, Outdoor Observation Plant (White)

I never really wanted to get into the monarch "business" so to speak. I've enjoyed watching them visit my milkweed, lay eggs, and watch the caterpillars do their thing naturally. That came to a screeching halt last week, when a WASP, held a massacre on my milkweed, and killed 3 caterpillars. I actually caught him with one in his mouth, just sitting there. I killed the wasp and held the little limp bodies he scattered about, and was like THATS IT! I'm getting an enclosure! I have 5 caterpillars now, all inside, with one crysalis, and after they all hatch, I'm going to replenish my milkweed supply and take a break. But for now, I sleep better, knowing their predators cannot get them. This is a great product. Tight, and secure. I love the clear window as seeing thru the screen is more difficult. Buy this and enjoy your monarch journey. 🐛🦋🥰

The media could not be loaded. It’s a vast improvement from the pop up kind. The frame is sturdy and very easy to set up. The clear window makes a huge difference in being able to observe the caterpillars.

This came with no directions on how to put it together but with directions on how to take care of the different lifecycles of butterflies. Luckily, it isn't too hard to figure out how to put it together. The outside netting fits snuggly around the PVC pipe frame. I'm a preschool teacher who does butterflies yearly. This is a good investment. It will pack away easily when I'm done with it. It is also sturdier than the wire pop up cages. It is heavier so it doesn't get knocked over. I really like the plastic see through wall that allows a better viewing on what's going on inside (despite the wrinkles).

Received on as a Christmas gift for when I raise butterflies. Very large and nice viewing window. Well made. Only disadvantage is that debris and caterpillar droppings tend to get in between the frame and net. Best way to clean is to use a handheld vacuum and attachment. Use care when attaching net during first use. It is not as pliable therefore easy to tear. Overall, I liked it so much I bought a second.

The PVC pipe that goes inside hinders the ability of a butterfly trying to go into crysilis formation and especially after hatching. They cannot cross over the pipe to the netting easily and many died because they could not do so. Had the PVC been outside it would have been perfect. Conflicted on this cage. May be good for raising other species but not for Monarchs.

Bought this for bird rehab, and it’s very well made. The zipper backing is smooth so it won’t get snagged, and the mesh seems durable. Will definitely order more!

It’s very easy to put together the zipper is very smooth and nice overall I’m very pleased with this product it’s really nice quality.
