Uninspired
This sleeve is being recommended on a variety of sites as a good pick for housing a Samsung Series 3 Chromebook, and I have to say the Chromebook just doesn't fit well enough for it to work up to expectations. The Chromebook is just barely too deep for the sleeve, and as a result the sleeve can't "shut" the way it is intended to. As a result, if you were to hold it upside down (with the opening facing down), the Chromebook would readily fall out.Of course, the Viper sleeve isn't MEANT to hold a Chromebook, I just mention that to clear up any confusion being bandied about out there on the web. It's meant (I believe) for a Macbook Air, so it wouldn't be fair to give it a mediocre review for failing to do something it wasn't designed to do. The design of the Viper sleeve is just...uninspired. It's made of a single layer of some kind of semi-tough, bendable material. It would definitely protect a laptop from the most incidental of surface scratches, but that's about it. In particular, it would have been nice to see some kind of soft inner layer that could have a) provided a small amount of shock absorption and b) held the laptop more firmly in place, once inside.

Simple design, effortless insertion.
I've been a big fan of booq (love the right-side up vs upside-down logo!) ever since I got a full size backpack with a laptop compartment and extra padded sleeve from them, so without hesitation I ordered this sleeve for my new 11" Air. The zipperless design is great, two magnets hold the opening closed and they added a feature that allows single handed insertion of the Air (just point one corner of the Air into the hand-width opening at the closure and it slides right in). The only possible disadvantage is that the outside dimensions of the sleeve are slightly larger than a tight fitting zippered case, so check those dimensions if your Air only just-fits in your bag without a sleeve. For my small Maxpedition sling bag I just close the bag's zipper most of the way and rely on the bag's external Y shaped strap to hold it in which works just fine. I am a bike, train, subway, walking commuter that finds this sleeve to be perfect and well priced.

slim, sleek, yet sturdy
This sleeve is exactly what I was looking for: something slim, sleek, yet sturdy. I needed something to store it in around the house when the computer is not in use but something I can quickly drop into a shoulder bag on the go. The edges/seams are firm and thick enough that I feel like my MacBook Air will be protected if I should drop my bag and the laptop hits on the edge/seam. The three ridges on both sides of the outside make me think it would hold up well if I dropped the laptop flat. The magnetic closure is awesome. It holds the laptop in when turned upside down but still lets you pull the laptop out quickly. I was worried the sleeve would be too soft/flimsy, but it's exactly what I was looking for: pliable but firm. The sleeve doesn't offer any padding, but it is a pretty hard shell. The only con: my cat likes to chew the tag. Cat owners be warned.

Warning: Does not fit 11" Air properly
This sleeve seemed to be exactly what I was looking for: easy access/in and out, relatively compact, horizontal orientation, good impact protection. I was excited when it arrived, opened it up, and put my 11" Air into the sleeve: it went in smooth as a glove. Then I tried to take it out and it wouldn't budge! To make a long story short, I was able, after about 15 minutes (!) to get the Air out without ripping the sleeve, but just barely. And because you just never know, I tried a *second* time, in case it was just me, and had the exact same problem. There is clearly a design flaw to this sleeve, because it should not be so hard to get out. After my experience I found that others had had a similar experience with this sleeve. One other thing to note: although the sleeve looks nice, the build leaves something to be desired: it feels, frankly, like a slightly-stronger than normal form of cardboard, and the inside is not really smooth, let alone plush. One would expect better on both fronts at this price point (40). Despite these other flaws, I probably would have kept the sleeve if it had at least fit properly. As it turned out, I returned it to Amazon who, as usual, were great.

Not What I expected
I bought this for my new Samsung Chromebook. While the Chromebook does fit in the sleeve, it does so barely. The Chromebook does jut out a bit, therefore, rendering the magnetic closures useless. I thought I was ordering the case noted on the Google Play site but I was wrong. Nice case, but does not meet my needs. Perhaps it fits the Mac Air better ...still in search for a case for my Samsung Chromebook.

It looks like there are a couple of glue looking blemishes
This is exactly what I was looking for. I own many other Booq products; as usual the quality is second to none. I was a bit curious of some of the negative reviews as to the fit and quality. Maybe there was inconstancy in the production as this item is being heavily discounted. It looks like there are a couple of glue looking blemishes, but for $10.00 who cares! Excellent value. Don't think twice. Buy it.

Good case but not what I was looking for.
The picture that I first clicked on was a case that had pockets for power cords and such. I didn't notice however, when it took me to your site that the picture changed to just a sleeve. So I was disappointed in that, but the sleeve works fine, just not able to carry anything along with it. It was my fault that I didn't notice the picture change so I will live with it. But I will be more aware when I do that in the future, to make sure it's exactly what I wanted.

Tough on the exterior, but no padding inside.
I bought this for my mac air 11". While I admire the general quality and design of this product (the outside is tough as nails) the inside has no cushion or padding whatsoever, and when the mac is inserted correctly it can be a real pain to get out again. Unique but slightly flawed IMHO,it may be going back.
