Affordable alligator clips that get the job done
These alligator clips are a pretty decent value for the price, and I purchased them for my own use. The jaw alignment of all 25 clips I received is pretty good. The round barrel fits snugly over the metal part of a standard banana plug, so these clips make handy adapters for test leads. Of course, be aware of safety and use any test leads with exposed metal carefully. The construction of the clips is OK, spring tension is decent and the plating is good. I would rate these clips not quite as nice as what I consider my gold standard for alligator clips, the Mueller BU-60 series. These clips are more affordable, and they would be a good choice for student labs and the like where clips are essentially an expendable commodity.

Excellent quality, no problem fitting 10 awg wire
I've purchased these twice, and both times they have been much better quality than previous alligator clips I've bought at similar prices. They're sturdier and better aligned, with only one having an obviously misaligned jaw, and one more having a slightly misaligned jaw. 22/24 are perfect. The 2 with misalignments are too slight to see in the first photo because they're at the left edge and the camera is viewing them at a slight angle. They stand up well to soldering too. I don't have a crimper, and I'm not even sure what type of crimper to buy for these. I've soldered them every time, typically with my soldering iron set to ~750F/400C or higher as I use lead free .993 Sn .007 Cu solder, and I've yet to see a single one of them discolor. The thickest wire I've used them with was 10 awg. It fit easily, but I'm not sure it fit easily enough that I'd be confident that 8 awg wire would fit. I'd probably want some beefier alligator clips if I wanted to use 8 awg wire though.
