Jeff Buckley Collection: Guitar Recorded Versions

Seems accurate with a good collection of songs. I don’t know why they chose some odd, generally not great songs from sweetheart.. but didn’t include lilac wine or forget her. Anyways, I seriously enjoy this. It’s all easy to read and solid.

After spending two years trying to figure them out by ear and using the few poorly done transcriptions on the internet, Jeff is finally paid his due with a very complete set of transcriptions of his music. It always amazes me how simple it is to play something that was impossible to figure out by ear. Also, because Jeff had a tendency toward alternate tunings, this book is a big eye-opener. A must have for Jeff Buckley fans. It also has the most accurate lyrics I've found so far as well.

Good tabs, and it's nice to see an attempt at a complete collection, but not great. Maybe it needs a bit more explanation to get a foothold, maybe he's just that difficult to figure out, but I've had more mileage figuring out Buckley's songs on my own or from online tabs than from this collection. In many (most?) cases there are more natural fingerings and shapes to pull off his songs than those found here, especially in the open tunings.

Good selection of songs, easy to read. This one also has the whole of grace written with "the parts where he goes "oooooh.."" with the real chords used for the song. A major plus.

One can only hope to capture some of his essence... Great.
