Definitely one of the best out there
These are definitely one of the best headsets out there at the moment. I've had the older versions before and they have lasted years and I expect the same for these. A must for any call center or someone on the phone a lot.

Plantronics and Poly are the same company, reviews claming "fake" are incorrect.
These are great, I have tested the microphone and looked at the output waveform, and used them for both Zoom/Discord etc... as well as for Music. If you fold away the microphone and use them as "HiFi" headphones, these are better than some dedicated headphones I have owned.... they are comfortable, and have just the right weight to them... (come with a nice case too).If someone had driver issues with a standard USB audio device (as some have commented), I suggest that they look at their software not this Plantronics/Poly. You shouldn't need a driver to use this, perhaps for the buttons, but was immediately recognised when plugged into my Ubuntu system, shows up as follows:-ID 047f:c053 Plantronics, Inc. Plantronics Blackwire 5220 SeriesLooking at the USB device it appears as a stereo audio output, a mono microphone, a mixer controller, and another device labeled "feature unit", which I assume refers to the mute/pickup button.... without any special software, the volume buttons control the default audio device, and the mute button interacts with the mute button for the device in the software mixer... but I don't have any way to test the "phone" button. Some people have reported that the microphone is quiet, but I compared it to another Plantronics (blackwire 315.1) headset, and it is identical... clearly set up not to clip even if you speak loudly, but not excessively quiet IMO, I was able to get near to 0db output by speaking loudly. If I was to be really picky, I'd say that the padding is not entirely silent, and crinkles a little as you move the headset on your head, but I think this will settle down as they are used.... definitely a good buy IMO.

Excellent telephony headset that pretty ok for music to.
- Has an excellent noise cancelling microphone with additional audio processing, making your voice very clear at the far end.- Has best of breed automatic equalisation to suit both telephony and music/commentary- Plantronics first rate audio shock and sound exposure protection to protect your hearing. G616 compliant and compliant with US and EU health and safety at work regulations.- It is important to download the Plantronics hub software and configure the headset to enable the safety features, as some of the safety and compliance features and not enabled by default; you must enable these with the Plantronics Hub software - there is also a pro version of the hub software that allows IT organisations to centrally manage headsets.- An excellent choice for those who use telephony for up to 4 hours a day.- Do not use the headset directly plugged into the headphones socket of your computer because some of the safety features are a function of the USB interface.- I find them very comfortable indeed- Not really suitable for contact centres as the ear cushions and not easily replaceable Plantronics have other models which are more suitable for this environment

Extremely satisfied
I was a bit unsure before the purchase because I have generally been disappointed by various other headsets, but this one was definitely above my expectations. My main use is for Skype teleconference sessions. The sound quality is excellent and the mic does pick my voice up extremely well according to my business counterparts. This is also an excellent headset for language learning, because of the crispness in sound. Obviously, it is not for music listening and neither it should be. Also, with Windows 10, the device setup completed in about 5 seconds, which was very impressive. It is also very comfortable to wear. I did start to feel some mild pressure after over two hours of continuous use, but shifting it a bit made things better and I felt no discomfort afterwards. This is a big difference from headsets that hurt after a few minutes of use. The only thing that was a bit unexpected was that the seller shipped this unit without a tracking number. Something for them to consider in the future maybe?

Great headphones and Mic
I used to use my standard TaoTronics over-ear headphones for Zoom and Teams calls and people used to comment that I wasn't loud enough or it was otherwise difficult to hear me. Since buying these I've had no issues with people being able to hear me at all. Also, the design of the on-ear headphones means my ears don't get as hot or sweaty when wearing them for prolonged periods of time and the headphones are less tightly sprung so they don't pinch my ears even when I'm wearing glasses. Despite this I have no issues with ambient noises it's not soundproof but it's not distracting at all.Works fine on both Windows and Mac USB controls are optimised for Teams but volume up and down works fine on Mac and zoom, teams and Google meets. I've had no issues at allOverall a very good product at a competitive price.

Awful microphone on iMac
Plus points: Comfortable and good quality through the headphones it seems.HOWEVER:The quality of the microphone on an iMac is ridiculously bad. I boosted it to max input volume and even then it will be quite soft and a very narrow banded eq result (as if you are speaking on a bad quality phone). NO bass AT ALL. As if anything has been rolled off below 1000hz (not joking). Even the internal mic on an iMac will pick up your voice better. I doubt it is software related because plugging it into the headset jack does give you also ability to use the mic on an iMac without a driver but it is still poor quality. Tried to download an eq adjuster software, they are hard to come by for Mac and the one I found didn't work with Catalina. Now don't get me wrong I don't expect the mic to be as good as a Blue Snowball but comparing that with this is just ridiculous. Even if I put the bulky Blue mic to the side of me and not talk directly into it I can get better results than wearing this Plantronics thing with boom mic. Completely night and day difference and since you can buy a USB bulky mic quite cheaply I really recommend going for something like that with your own headphones plugged in over this headset if you are concerned about voice audio quality and you are wanting a good chat experience longterm. Whoever you are Zoom or Skype calling to will appreciate it most likely. You will most likely stand out better if you want to be heard in a professional setting whilst working from home.If you don't care about mic quality then you can go for this as it's simple and it does work.I'm going to see if I can return it.As an audiophile I am disgusted that a mic like this can be on an item that costs as much as this. Separate headphones and a USB mic will cost as much or cheaper and make your voice sound MUCH better.Disappointing.
