Perfect Size, Chops Well, Easy To Use
I own two other choppers in different sizes. This one is nearly identical in design to my 1.5-cup Black & Decker chopper, which was discontinued. I still use it every few days, but I bought this one as a spare in case it stops working. 1) ASSEMBLY AND USE - For the chopper to work, the bowl and lid must be locked in place, and it takes only seconds (both pieces must be secure or the chopper will not work, which is a safety feature). First, lock the bowl in place by centering it over the stainless steel post and turn it clockwise. Then add the chopping blade, then GENTLY affix the lid, which has a tiny, somewhat delicate, plastic notch on it (the design could use an improvement in that regard). That notch needs to be on the LEFT side of the chopper, and you will need to (again, GENTLY) turn the lid clockwise until you hear it click. Some people noted that the notch broke off, so my guess is they were tried to force it on counter-clockwise, or they were too rough with the lid. 2) BOWL DESIGN (CLEANING AND EMPTYING AFTER CHOPPING) - This chopper is ideal for small jobs and took only seconds to assemble. I was disappointed, however, to see after unpacking the product -- which was not noticeable from the scant two images in the product listing -- that the INSIDE of the chopping bowl is not smooth. It has the same annoying feature as the larger Black & Decker 3-cup chopper, i.e., there are four slightly raised vertical ridges, top to bottom (my B&D 1.5-cup chopper is completely smooth on the inside, and I don't understand why they discontinued it). Hopefully, Kitchen Selectives will consider improving the bowl's design, and although I am not an engineer, the ridges do not appear to serve any purpose. This is not a "major" issue that affects the functionality of the chopper, but I make this point because from an ease of cleaning standpoint. I have two small silicone scrapers. One has a flat end, and the other has a slight spoon-like shape. Cleaning this chopper or removing the contents after chopping is not a "one-stroke action" due to the internal ridges. 3) MAKING EGG SALAD - I first tested the chopper to make egg salad. It is powerful, and the pulse action works well -- almost too well! As a tip, if you decide to chop anything soft like hard-boiled eggs, it is best not to be too heavy-handed with the pulse button. That was my mistake, because instead of the more traditional "lumpy" chopped eggs, my heavy-handed pulse action resulted in a course bread crumb-like texture. Although I seasoned it the same way, the texture was not as appealing in a sandwich. 4) CHOPPING ONIONS (AND CARROTS) - When chopping a whole onion (medium size), to get an even texture, it is best to quarter it first, and not put more than one-half of an onion in the chopper at a time (you will have a better texture by leaving some "breathing room" before latching the lid). Also, when chopping carrots, I use baby peeled carrots and fill the bowl about halfway or two-thirds full, but not more.

Love my Mini Chopper!
I use this all the time, and especially love it for mincing garlic - no more sticky fingers! And I cook ground turkey for one of my dogs; this breaks it up easily into tiny pieces for my little pup and cuts down on work for me. My only complaint is the plastic cup chips and breaks over time (maybe because I put it in the dishwasher?) I've had a couple of these machines and never had the motor break down. Replacement cup costs almost as much as the whole unit so I just replace the unit. Great price for a great product!

Do not buy
I wish i had read reviews before buying. Had not used mine until today. Does not work at all just as other reviews said. Too late to return. Money just thrown away. Probably made in china.

It does work
As others have mentioned, it the locking scheme for the top/cup is a little flaky. The power button won't even engage unless you have the cup and lid perfectly lined up. But on the plus side, it did chop/shred/mince the food I put in it, and clean up was pretty easy.

Aunque es un poco pequeño, las aspas son muy afiladas, lo que hace que muela muy fácil y rápido. Para lo que lo necesito cumple perfecto mis expectativas, me encantó.

I really like this pint sized chopper/grinder... It takes very little counter space,,very easy to use and to clean... depending on how long you hold the power button down you get from coarsely chopped to fine or super long it will puree the food that you put inside.... So far I've have done creamy style coleslaw, chopped carrots for soup,,and did chicken pate ...all were perfectly done...this would be great for making either baby foods or puree foods for seniors who can no-longer chew correctly....plainly put ..I love this kitchen gadget !!!!

Le contenant est plus petit que je pensais mais fonctionne très bien si on utilise une petite quantité de nourriture.
