When the pedal is in its highest position, how far off the floor is it? I am wondering if I have enough headroom in my basement.

Hello L. Ray, In most cases you'll be no more than 6"-8" off the ground. The pedal does come up higher than that at it's highest point, roughly 12", but the pedals are tilted at a downward angle to encourage proper running form and you'll be putting your weight on the opposite foot when the pedal is that high off the ground.
