We bought this as an alternative to a dog door as we have a very large dog. This allows us to keep our screen door to the deck open but keep out bugs and help keep heat\cool air in the house. Dogs quickly learned to go in and out and can now lay on our deck when they want without us having to get in and let them out\in multiple times. There is definitely an out gas odor but it is fading. We can also still see through pretty easily and don’t loose our view.

We have two Great Danes and a Lab mix. We hung this from our sliding door leading out to the dog pen area. Helps with bugs and a bit with heating and cooling staying in the house. The sides have a bit of a gap. We attached a cheap magnetic screen door over the strip door on the outside. Viola! Total of about $110.00 for everything, but WAY cheaper than ANY dog door made by a company for 150 lb.+ Dogs to go in and out all year round! The screen door helps with keeping the flaps from blowing in the wind as well. Also, add some reinforcement to the screen door at the top with large dogs such as mine. The Velcro just isn't strong enough! Hope this helps all large breed dog owners. Saves from letting them in and out all day and even at night! ☺️🤟 Ps. We did have to trim the bottom of the strips a bit if you get the 36 x 80 hanging strips. And my Husband doubted me!! Ha!! 🤣

I needed a doggie door that would keep most of my a/c in the house. A regular doggie door would not work because I have bars that need to be locked when I leave the house. After doing some barnstorming with my daughter, we came up with this idea. It works really well and gives my dogs easy access to backyard. They are easy to install but the industrial looking mounting bracket needs to be covered with some kind of moulding that's my next project.

This product met and exceeded my expectations. The plastic needed very little conditioning (the instructions say to let it lay flat at inside temperatures for at least 24 hours). I had the box inside for a day or two before unrolling the plastic (which I left unrolled on my bedroom floor for about 12 hours). Installation went pretty much without a hitch (any problem had more to do with me and my tools than with the product). Because the strip-door curtain is hanging outside a patio door frame, there was a little space on each side that needed to be sealed off. I was thinking of foam strips, but when I noticed the wind blowing the curtain, I got the idea of installing a tension bar near the middle of the doorway to pull the strips in out of the wind a bit while at the same time eliminating a good bit of the open space. I was then able to install some angle-cardboard from some furniture packing on each side of the tension bar which eliminated most of the remaining space. I was worried that the dog might chew on the strips, but so far that hasn't been a problem. The wind would definitely have been a problem without the tension bar--only time will tell whether that will take care of that problem entirely. I did not have to trim the strips at all.

Pros: The installation hardware is solid and very durable. The strip thickness is great. The entire system will last for many years, even in a rugged environment. This is certainly no cheap quality product.Cons: The plastic outgassing (VOCs) from the strips is incredibly bad. In an enclosed environment, I had a pretty severe effect on my eyes and even breathing. Once I realized it was so bad, I removed the installation and put all the strips on 2 8' long fold-out tables for 3 days in the sun, turning them over at the halfway point. This cured the outgassing issue, but I ended up with strips that were 1 inch shorter.I recommend to any buyer to perform the accelerated outgassing first before trimming the length.Apart from the strips now being shorter than I'd wanted, everything's good. It would have 5 stars if not for the VOC issue and slightly shorter strips.

I have worked from home for six years. I finished a walk in closet for my office. I live in South Dakota and we have harsh winters. I was using a shower curtain to try to keep the heat in and it worked so so. I considered adding a door but I didn’t want to feel confined and there are no windows in my office but there are in the basement. I have to say I absolutely love these. I don’t loose any natural light and my office feels toasty. My heater doesn’t run no. Stop anymore so that should help my electric bill. Super easy to install as well.

What a great way to keep the bugs and weather out while allowing my dogs to come and go at will. We have double French doors opening onto our patio. I've been looking to find a way to install a dog door in them, but would have to totally replace the doors at over $1k. While browsing Amazon I discovered these strip curtains. They work perfectly for my application and were something I could afford. Installation was pretty easy and the dogs figured it out quickly. I highly recommend this product.
