When the delivery arrived I did as I always do with coffees I know I’m going to review. I opened the box, inspected the bag, opened the bag and took a really deep sniff of the coffee. This Mayorga Artesano coffee exhaled an enticing bouquet of aromas, I took another deep inhale through both my mouth and nose, something I learned from world class tasters judging spirits. I couldn’t resist. I emptied my grinder, rinsed and dried its parts and my Moccamastet carafe, grabbed the zero filter filtered water jug and I brewed a full pot. What a terrific homey, warm taste this coffee produces. As it’s brewing it blooms wonderfully and the aroma fills my entire place. The taste does the same. I make the coffee the same way I do all the coffees I drink, a scoop of powdered cream a scoop of Splenda a vigorous stir then it rests till it’s cooled to drink temps. The earthy mocha amber brew that filled the carafe was a celebration of flavors. Just terrific. I wanted more after it was gone. And since, when I start to get the 3 o’clock blues, I hit the button on the grinder and start an afternoon brew. I appreciate flavors, not because I am an expert, I appreciate flavors because I slow down and take the time to experience the flavors without any preconceived ideas. Taste is relative to the taster. For me, this will be a buy again and again. Terrific.

Great very dark coffee.
This surprised me. I bought it during Amazon days with a coupon to try it. It's great! I brewed the first pot with same quantity as my Kicking Horse dark (Kick Ass, Grizzly etc) and this brews stronger. The beans are oily so I have to scrape the sides of my grinder but that's ok. I grind and mix 2 parts of this to 1 part Italian espresso (lower price but not by much) and it's very nice. So if you buy this and it's too strong, just blend with something lighter or use less.I still have some Kicking Horse and will likely switch to this as their price keeps rising. If this brand can keep prices in check I'll try their others as well.

Coffee of good quality and taste
I have been enjoying this coffee for several months now. It’s always fresh and the beans grind up nicely. Great taste, better than other brands I’ve tried.

Good product for a light, mellow coffee.
Mayorga obviously cares about their product and it's a good quality coffee. I just found it to be a bit too mellow and light for a medium roast, as I like a bit more body and flavor to my cuppa. I recommend it to anyone who likes a lighter brew, it's a nice product.

Excellent Customer Service and coffee!!!
First, I want to highlight the excellent customer service from the Mayorga customer service representative. I reached out stating that I wanted a more freshly processed batch through Amazon to the organization. While the coffee was fine, as a coffee snob, I prefer a more freshly roast. The customer service representative was quickly to respond from Mayorga and sent me another bag on the house, freshly roasted with an additional sample. That’s what I call customer service and making sure the customer is fully satisfied. As far as a coffee. It’s a medium blend from multiple South American countries, which gives it a nice robust, but not overly bold flavor but an very favorable cup from this quality roaster!! I plan to order more coffee in the near future.Just to reiterate, the coffee that I got initially was only three months old from Amazon, and that is Amazon rotating the coffee not Mayorga.I highly recommend this roaster/company as they have variety of light, medium and dark roast that’ suits all the needs from a pour over, drip and espresso. I would go on their website as well and check out more coffee options.Thank you, Bianca from Mayorga For being an asset of the Mayorga organization by offer an exceptional customer service.TG

Outstanding in every way
I'm always skeptical when a coffee has "blend" in the name, but this one does not disappoint. It has a delightful fragrance and rich sweet flavor, and it's very smooth. It's billed as being a light roast; I'd call it more light-medium, but in any case, it's perfectly roasted. It's also organic and very reasonably priced for the quality. I couldn't ask for more!

Muy Macho Excellent, Others Inconsistent
Review re-written and re-rated 2022-01-16.Muy Macho is still one of my all-time favorite coffees. So far, it has been pretty consistent: Delicious. I wish I could rate it separately to give it the 5-star rating it deserves. The first time I tried Winter Blend, I thought I liked it just as much as Muy Macho. However, each bag has had a different flavor, getting progressively worse. This last bag I got was definitely fresh (nice and oily), but it does not taste anything like the previous bags. In fact, I don't like this much at all. I usually brew dark coffees at temps between 190-195F depending on how fresh the roast is. This last bag comes out sour at lower temps. I tried increasing the temp all the way to boiling, and its better, but still a hint of sour no matter how much bloom time (tried up to 3 minutes), grind size, or brew method (pour-over, Aeropress, espresso, immersion). I think I'm done with Winter Blend. Its just too inconsistent and after this last bag it seems like a quality crap-shoot. Last year I would have rated Winter Blend a 5. After the last 2 bags, I would give it a 1 or 2.I've experienced the same inconsistency with Mayorga's decaf. I quit ordering that last year.
