AXIS 0898-001 Weatherproof Network Surveillance Camera, White

I use this camera to live stream my backyard bird feeders on Youtube. With the temperature extremes we get here in Minnesota, I need something that can withstand anything from -20F to 100F. For many years I had a StarDot camera, but it was flaky with Youtube streaming and their firmware updates are not recent. Axis seems more of a modern camera. It also has an audio input for a microphone. This camera doesn't have built in Youtube streaming, but there is a 3rd party app (CamStreamer) available for it. Unfortunately it's an extra cost, but it has worked really well for me. This camera does not allow direct telnet access like the StarDot cameras do, so you can't script directly on the camera. However it does have a pretty comprehensive API which covers most of the functions, and good documentation. For example I wrote a shell script running on a mini Linux computer (Zotac ZBox), that pulls data from my weather station, and then calls the camera's API to set text overlay on the image with current weather data. The only thing I dislike about the camera is that it's a pain to connect cables into it. They run through the mount up into the camera, so you have to snake it through the bracket. If you need to change something then you have to take the entire mount down to do it. Other than that, I've been very happy with it.
