1-Channel Infrared Remote Control Relay Module IR Switch 5V

What I wanted.

This is a nifty little module and it does work. I was able to program it to work with an old Comcast Remote (Silver with Red Select button) as an auxiliary device. The only problem is that the Comcast remote sends the signal several times per button press so the relay pops on and off and often ends up in the same state as when you started making it hard to actually control. Many remotes do this to make sure your device gets the signal. Since IR circuits in most devices have a buffer so they will only process one power signal per button press regardless of multiple signals, the multiple signals normally improves performance and response. This means I will need to modify this module to accommodate the multiple signal being sent from the remote. So it loses 1 star for this.In order to modify a circuit you need the schematic. I was able to obtain one (quickly I might add) from the seller. However it was all in Chinese. So I had to download OCR and translation software and spend several hours painfully translating the schematic. So this is why it loses the second star.I will say that the seller was very responsive (less than 24hour response) for all of my queries so I would buy from him again.NOTE: I have included my updated English version of the schematic below in hopes that it helps others. Maybe the seller can even use it to send out to others requesting a schematic.

Bought one of these and discovered a few problems. It may not be a problem for some because it does function. One issue was that the learning led flashes all the time when the relay is energized. I sent an email to the company in China and they said it is normal. I will be removing the LED since it is a problem for me. Another is that when power is removed and restored the relay energizes (on). I fixed this problem by replacing Q1 with an NPN. The schematic provided on their website is incorrect. Other than that it works fine.

Does anyone know how to set this relay switch to momentary? And I can’t find directions anywhere. Kinda figured it out. power In and obviously the green terminals act as the switch closing and opening. And push and hold the button till the lights flash then push the button on the Ir remote you want it to learn

I purchased one of these and it simply didn't work. I reached out the company and they failed to respond to my questions. Given they're so cheap, and the only variation on the marketplace, I ordered a second unit and worked perfectly. I'm happy with this product. Eventually.
