Apparently ruler is accurate but how accurate is this using as a 90 degree square (horizontal line)?

These look like Incra knockoffs, which are a patented design. Please clarify.

They do look very similar...and while I see Incra lists "Patented" they do not say what is patented. You can not patent feet, inches or meters clearly. You could patent the process of making the rulers. My guess is a ruler is a ruler and if you put holes in one for marking purposes, it seems doubtful that makes it unique enough to protect it with a patent.
