I am indeed very happy with my purchase
Original Abus Diskus padlock received in excellent packaging and at an affordable price of Rs 1,500; it is made in Germany. I am glad that I received a slightly older version of the product, because the older version comes with a hardened steel shackle. The lock is equipped with a highly pick resistant Disk Detainer core made entirely from brass with false gates. I think Indian brands like Godrej, in collaboration with Abus, should fill the market with these reliable locks, instead of the dimple-key locks that can be picked in less than a minute!!

Box is open, worn out and old. Product working fine. Charging extra online.
The box is old, opened and worn out. The product, code card has scratches and could be used. It has a sticker which indicates that the product has been bought from 9 to 9 Super market, Patna(India) at 50% off on Rs1850 (Rs 925). It is being sold at 1500 to me. MRP sticker on the box is Rs3700. Imported by Brand next Kolkata. The product is fully functional. I couldn't find it anywhere else on the internet & its working, so I have decided not to return it. Thank you LockPickingLawyer.

Good lock but inflated hidden costs!
This company is clearly into gouging it's customers . They supply only two keys whereas most manufacturers of high security locks provide five !!! (key copying is proprietary....it can only be done in-house at Abus which is located in Europe) If you need the extra key(s) they charge 8.5 euros per key plus 12 euros for shipping. This is almost as much as the lock cost (over rupees 3000.00). I cannot imagine good any reason for not supplying extra keys. Patronising attitude doesn't cut it!

Looks like a fake product
Received a rusty old fake product with dents. Received lock looks different from the one shown in the pictures in Amazon product page. I have a similar lock already, and the received item does not say made in Germany anywhere. Returning it.

This lock makes it difficult for burglars to cut through as the tongue is concealed. Rated very high by professional lock pickers

ABUS diskus > Hardware store lock
I love this lock. It has a very satisfying *clunk* to it when you lock and unlock it. It has a good weight to it and feels very well built. I live on Vancouver island and this lock has stood up to the entire rainy winter with zero issues. Since it's a disc detainer lock it's unlikely that your average lock picker will be able to pick it without a specialized tool. ( check out the Lockpickinglawyer on YouTube to see what I mean). I searched long and hard for a good lock and came to the conclusion that you cannot find a decent lock in stores, so I spent the extra and bought this one with confidence for about $55 CAD. Money well spent, much cheaper than replacing the items it's securing. I also like that it looks like your average disc lock, but is a much higher level of security. It's German built and the quality reflects that. Also, never force the key. You'll likely come across the review on YouTube ( or maybe it was Amazon USA?) of the guy that was upset because he broke his key off in the lock.. with disc detainer locks you must rotate the key gently until the discs are in order and you feel the key go all of the way in, it was his fault he broke the key, not the locks fault.

A solid padlock
Well, the Lockpicking Lawyer sent me to this lock, like many people. If you do not know who this person is, you owe it to yourself to look him up. This lock gave him enough trouble picking, that it's one of the padlocks he recommends. It's easy to see why. The key is uncommon, so picking tools and skills are less likely to be in possession by the bad guys. The shackle is thick, and the body solid, to resist physical attacks or cutting. The size and shape does limit the places you can use it, so make sure it will work for you before spending the money. The lock may seem pricey, but that's the cost of engineering and materials manufacture to make a solid product.

Amazon Resells Returned and Damaged Lock
Did a lot of research on locks and settled on the Abus 20/70. Ordered hoping to protect my valuables but disappointed with Amazon. The lock I received today is obviously used with finger prints, box opened and looks like was probably returned multiple times. The end is of shackle looks like it has been shaved/damaged. The lock mechanism doesn’t lock properly either with the keys provided and quite sticky. It needs to be completely locked with your hand.

The product wasn't New. False advertising.
The product received wasn't New, at all. It came in a really old box that has been opened, with broken tape and dirt on the box. This was quite a pricey lock for about $65, including taxes. Should have sent me an actual New lock, not a returned old item. Not all people have time to send things back and forth for exchanges. The lock it self is a decent steady lock, but, definitely this product is not new, not worth the $65.

Beefy lock
I bought this based on a recommendation by the LockPickingLawyer :) . The lock came in a small box with two keys and a keycard containing information on how to get new keys cut (make sure you put the card in a safe place). The lock itself is pretty hefty, and the mechanism is pretty smooth and operates with a satisfying clunk. Keyhole has a cover that slides out of the way to insert the key. Inserting the key takes some practice though, but otherwise, anyone seriously intent on getting whatever this is protecting would be better off cutting whatever the lock is latched on instead of taking on the lock directly.
